Installation Steps
Step 1: Attach Frame Arms
This step involves attaching the two main frame arms to the front of the Thule Chariot.
1A: Preparation
Diagram shows the front section of the Thule Chariot carrier.
1B: Attaching the First Arm
Take one of the attachment arms and align it with the corresponding mounting point on the chariot frame. Push the arm firmly into place until it clicks. A "click" sound indicates successful engagement.
Diagram shows an arrow pointing an arm towards the chariot mount, with 'click' indicated.
1C: Verifying Connection
Ensure the arm is fully seated. A green checkmark (✔️) indicates a correct, secure connection. A red cross (❌) indicates an improper connection.
Close-up diagrams show correct (✔️) and incorrect (❌) seating of the attachment arm.
1D: Attaching the Second Arm
Repeat the process for the second attachment arm on the other side of the chariot.
Diagram shows an arrow pointing the second arm towards its mounting point.
Step 2: Assemble Quick-Release Skewer
This step details the assembly of the quick-release skewer used for the all-terrain wheel.
2A: Skewer Components
The quick-release skewer consists of a threaded rod, two springs, and a lever mechanism.
Diagram shows the individual parts of the quick-release skewer.
2B: Inserting the Skewer
Insert the threaded rod, with springs positioned correctly, through the hub of the all-terrain wheel.
Diagram shows the skewer rod being inserted through the wheel hub.
2C: Spring Placement
Ensure the springs are correctly oriented on either side of the hub.
Close-up diagram shows the spring and rod positioned within the wheel hub.
2D: Securing the Skewer
Close the quick-release lever to tighten the skewer, securing it within the wheel hub.
Diagram shows the lever being rotated to tighten the skewer.
Step 3: Attach All-Terrain Wheel
This step describes how to attach the all-terrain wheel to the chariot.
3A: Mounting the Wheel
Align the hub of the all-terrain wheel with the mounting point on the front of the chariot (or the attachment arm, depending on the specific Chariot model). Insert the quick-release skewer through the fork.
Diagram shows the all-terrain wheel being positioned for attachment to the chariot.
3B: Tightening the Skewer
Rotate the quick-release lever to tighten the skewer, ensuring the wheel is securely fastened.
Close-up diagram shows the quick-release lever being rotated to tighten.
3C: Final Check
Ensure the lever is fully closed and the wheel is firmly attached.
Diagram shows the quick-release lever in the closed, secure position.
Step 4: Secure Kit to Frame
This step ensures the entire all-terrain kit is securely attached to the chariot.
4A: Verifying Attachment Points
Check the connection points where the frame arms attach to the chariot. Ensure they are fully engaged, similar to Step 1C.
Diagrams show correct (✔️) and incorrect (❌) engagement of attachment points.
4B: Securing Mechanisms
Some models may have additional securing mechanisms, such as bolts or straps, to further secure the kit. Follow the diagrams to tighten any such fasteners.
Diagrams show top-down views of the chariot with arrows indicating where to secure the kit.
Step i: Storing Wheels / Kit
This section provides guidance on storing the all-terrain wheels or the entire kit.
i: Comparison
Diagrams show the chariot with standard wheels and then with the all-terrain wheels attached, illustrating the difference in configuration.
A & B: Wheel Attachment/Detachment
Diagrams show the operation of the quick-release lever for attaching or detaching the all-terrain wheel.
C: Wheel Attached
Diagram shows the all-terrain wheel attached to the chariot.
D: Connection Verification
Similar to other steps, diagrams show correct (✔️) and incorrect (❌) engagement of attachment points.
E: Attaching Frame Arms
Diagram shows the two frame arms being attached to the front of the chariot.
