LinksysAtlas 6 (MX2000)Mesh system · Apphttp://myrouter.local (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.1.1 (opens in a new tab)adminVendor app or account

Atlas 6 AX3000 dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) Intelligent Mesh node (MX2000 series). App-first setup via the Linksys app auto-generates a secure router password (distinct from the Wi-Fi key), so there is no universal default. Linksys: "We created a secure router password during setup. This is not the same as the WiFi password you created to connect to your mesh system."

Recovery & reset instructions

Hold the Reset button on the bottom of the node until the top light turns red, fades in pulses, then flashes bright red, to restore factory defaults; then re-run setup in the Linksys app.

LinksysAtlas Pro 6 (MX5502, AX5400 Dual-Band Mesh)Mesh system · Webhttp://myrouter.local (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.1.1 (opens in a new tab)No username requiredPassword created during setup

Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 mesh system (AX5400 class), a distinct tier from the already-seeded Atlas 6 MX2000. Official Linksys Support FAQ, verbatim: "What is the node's default admin password? With the latest firmware, the node no longer supports a default admin password. You must create one when first accessing the web interface through a browser or change the password using the Linksys app."

Recovery & reset instructions

Hold the Reset button on the node until the LED flashes, then release — this restores factory default settings. Admin password recovery uses the five-digit recovery code printed on the product label.

LinksysE5600 (AC1200 Dual-Band)Router · Webhttp://myrouter.local (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.1.1 (opens in a new tab)No username requiredadmin

No admin/admin: the documented default password is 'admin' with no username. The E5600 uses a plain http:// connection (unlike the HTTPS-only E7350/E8450). You should set your own password at first login.

Recovery & reset instructions

Hold the Reset button on the bottom for about 10 seconds until the lights flash, then release to restore factory defaults. Browse to http://myrouter.local (or http://192.168.1.1, or http://192.168.11.1 if connected behind an existing network) and log in with the default password 'admin'.

LinksysE7350 (AX1800 WiFi 6)Router · Webhttp://myrouter.local (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.1.1 (opens in a new tab)No username requiredadmin

No admin/admin: the default web-UI password is 'admin' with no username field. Newer firmware forces an HTTPS connection, so an http:// address will not load the login page.

Recovery & reset instructions

Hold the Reset button on the bottom for about 10 seconds until the lights flash, then release to restore factory defaults. Current firmware requires HTTPS: browse to https://myrouter.local (or https://192.168.1.1, or https://192.168.10.1 if it is behind an upstream connection) and log in with the default password 'admin'.

LinksysE8450 (AX3200 WiFi 6)Router · Webhttp://myrouter.local (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.1.1 (opens in a new tab)No username requiredadmin

No admin/admin: the router's default web-interface password is 'admin' with no username. Latest firmware forces HTTPS, so use https:// (an http:// URL will fail). You are expected to set your own password on first login.

Recovery & reset instructions

Hold the Reset button on the bottom for about 10 seconds until the lights flash, then release and let it reboot to factory defaults. On current firmware an HTTPS connection is required: browse to https://myrouter.local (or https://192.168.1.1, or https://10.0.0.1 if the router sits behind another gateway) and log in with the default password 'admin'.

LinksysE9450Router · Webhttp://192.168.79.1 (opens in a new tab)adminadmin

AX5400 dual-band Wi-Fi 6 standalone router (non-mesh) that uses a non-standard default LAN IP (192.168.79.1) rather than the common 192.168.1.1 — distinct from the Velop mesh SKUs already covered. Linksys's own FAQ: the default IP is 192.168.79.1, and admin is the default username and password.

Recovery & reset instructions

Press and hold the reset button at the back of the router for 10 seconds, then release — the power light turns off and starts blinking blue as it restores factory defaults.

LinksysEA7500 (Max-Stream AC1900)Router · Webhttp://myrouter.local (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.1.1 (opens in a new tab)adminadmin

Official Linksys default is admin. The Smart Wi-Fi setup wizard prompts you to change it; a Recovery Key on the label is used for recovery.

Recovery & reset instructions

With a pin, hold the Reset button 10 seconds until the light blinks, then release (or power-cycle for 30 seconds).

LinksysHydra Pro 6E / MR7500 (AXE6600 Tri-Band Mesh)Router · Webhttp://myrouter.local (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.1.1 (opens in a new tab)No username requiredadmin

No admin/admin: Linksys documents the default administrative password of an unconfigured router as 'admin' with no username. The label's unique password is the WiFi key, not the admin login. Setup normally forces you to create your own admin password.

Recovery & reset instructions

Hold the Reset button for 11 seconds; watch for three slow red pulses and release the button on the fourth red pulse — the router reboots to factory defaults. Reconnect to the default WiFi (LinksysSetupXXX, unique WiFi password on the node's label) and set it up in the Linksys app, or log in at http://192.168.1.1 with the admin password. (Software reset: web UI > Router Settings > Troubleshooting > Diagnostics > Factory reset.)

LinksysMAX-STREAM MR8300 (AC2200)Mesh system · Apphttp://myrouter.local (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.1.1 (opens in a new tab)adminVendor app or account

MAX-STREAM AC2200 tri-band Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) Velop-compatible mesh router. App-driven setup creates a secure admin password automatically (also manageable at LinksysSmartWiFi.com) — no static default. Linksys: "We created a secure admin password during setup."

Recovery & reset instructions

Hold the rear-panel Reset button while the top light blinks red; keep holding until the light goes out and then turns bright red, to restore factory defaults, then re-run the Linksys app setup.

LinksysMAX-STREAM MR9000 (AC3000)Router · Apphttp://myrouter.local (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.1.1 (opens in a new tab)adminVendor app or account

MAX-STREAM AC3000 tri-band Wi-Fi 5 mesh-capable router. App-driven setup creates a secure admin password automatically — there is no static default; a Recovery Key on the label is used for recovery. Web access via myrouter.local or https://192.168.1.1. Linksys: "We created a secure admin password during setup."

Recovery & reset instructions

Change the admin password in Linksys app > Router Administration > Change Router Password. Full factory reset: hold the Reset button until the top light blinks red, releasing when it turns bright red.

LinksysMR7350 (MAX-STREAM AX1800 Mesh WiFi 6)Router · Webhttp://myrouter.local (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.1.1 (opens in a new tab)No username requiredadmin

There is no admin/admin here: the documented default administrator password of an unconfigured MR7350 is literally 'admin' (no username). The unique password printed on the bottom label is the WiFi password, not the admin password. Linksys prompts you to set your own admin password during app setup.

Recovery & reset instructions

Press and hold the Reset button on the bottom of the router for about 10 seconds until the lights indicate a reset, then release and let it reboot to factory defaults. Reconnect to the default WiFi (_LinksysSetupXXX, using the unique WiFi password on the bottom label) or plug in by Ethernet, then finish setup in the Linksys app, or log in at http://192.168.1.1 with the admin password. If you forgot a changed password, use the 5-digit recovery code on the product label.

App-first setup (Linksys app). No universal web default — the admin password is created during setup; a Recovery Key printed on the device label is used for recovery. Login is password-only (no username).

Recovery & reset instructions

Hold the Reset button on the bottom of the node ~10 seconds until the light turns red, then release to restore factory defaults.

LinksysVelop Pro 6E (MX6200)Mesh system · Apphttp://myrouter.local (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.1.1 (opens in a new tab)adminVendor app or account

Velop Pro 6E tri-band Wi-Fi 6E Cognitive Mesh node. App-driven setup via the Linksys app — there is NO preset default admin password; the app auto-generates one, and recovery uses the Recovery Key on the label. Web access via myrouter.local or https://192.168.1.1. Linksys: "the app will automatically generate a password to secure your node."

Recovery & reset instructions

Recovery uses the Reset Password / Recovery Key printed on the node's product label. Full factory reset: hold the Reset button on the bottom of the node until the light blinks red.

LinksysVelop Pro 7 (MBE7000)Mesh system · Apphttp://linksyssmartwifi.com (opens in a new tab)http://192.168.1.1 (opens in a new tab)Not specifiedVendor app or account

Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) tri-band BE11000 mesh system — a Wi-Fi 7 tier above the AC-class Velop MX already covered. App-first setup via the Linksys app; each node ships with a unique Wi-Fi password and Recovery Key on its underside label. Linksys: "The default administrative password automatically changes to an unknown password if the router has been set up with the Linksys app."

Recovery & reset instructions

Press and hold the Reset button on the bottom of the node until the light turns red, then set up again via the Linksys app. If the admin password is unknown, use the Recovery Key on the node's label to customize a new one.

Recovery & reset instructions

Hold the Reset button 10 seconds until the power LED flashes to restore factory settings.

LinksysWRT54GRouter · Webhttp://192.168.1.1 (opens in a new tab)No username requiredadmin

The official Linksys user guide documents a genuine universal default: leave the username blank and use admin as the password. This is one of the few classic models with a true factory default (not admin/admin) — Linksys recommends changing it immediately from Administration > Management.

Recovery & reset instructions

Open a browser and go to http://192.168.1.1. When the login box appears, leave the User Name blank and enter admin as the password (lowercase). To factory reset, press and hold the Reset button on the back with a paperclip for about 15 seconds until the front lights flash, then release and wait for the router to reboot; the login returns to blank username / admin password.

How to reach your router

  1. Connect your computer or phone to the router’s Wi-Fi or an Ethernet port.
  2. Open a documented login address. If it does not load, look for the Router or Default gateway address in your device’s network settings.
  3. Match your model and hardware revision to the table. Use the device label or your setup password when the model has no shared default.

Admin password or Wi-Fi password?

The admin password opens the router’s settings. The Wi-Fi password connects a device to the wireless network. They may be different, and an ISP or cloud account can be separate again.

If the password does not work

Check capitalization and the device label, then use the manufacturer’s password-recovery instructions. A factory reset erases settings and may require ISP setup details; follow the instructions for your exact model.
