ROUTER & MODEM REFERENCE

Fortinet router & modem login

Login addresses, default credentials, and setup instructions for Fortinet equipment.

A shared web login address is not listed for this equipment. Check the model instructions below for app access, the device label, or your router’s gateway address.

Connect to the router’s Wi-Fi or Ethernet first. These links open a new tab on your device; the address may differ if the network was reconfigured.

FortinetFortiGate 40FModem / gateway · Web–adminPassword created during setup

Fortinet's first row in the dataset — FortiGate 40F is Fortinet's compact entry-level desktop firewall/NGFW aimed at small offices and branch/home-office deployments. FortiOS documentation (applies across the FortiGate line, not a 40F-specific page, so login host/IP are left blank rather than guessed): "By default, your FortiGate has an administrator account set up with the username admin and no password... Adding a password to the admin administrator is mandatory. You will be prompted to configure it the first time you log in... after a factory reset, and after a new image installation."

Recovery & reset instructions

CLI: execute factoryreset, or hold the recessed hardware reset button (roughly 20 seconds, model-dependent) — after a factory reset the admin account reverts to no password and FortiOS forces a new one to be set on next login.

FortinetFortiGate 60FModem / gateway · Web–adminPassword created during setup

A tier up from the 40F — FortiGate 60F targets small-to-midsize offices with SD-WAN and higher inspection throughput. Same FortiOS-line no-default-password behavior as the 40F, documented at the product-line level rather than a 60F-specific page (login host/IP left blank rather than guessed). FortiOS documentation: "By default, your FortiGate has an administrator account set up with the username admin and no password... Adding a password to the admin administrator is mandatory."

GET CONNECTED

How to reach your router

  1. Connect your computer or phone to the router’s Wi-Fi or an Ethernet port.
  2. Open a documented login address. If it does not load, look for the Router or Default gateway address in your device’s network settings.
  3. Match your model and hardware revision to the table. Use the device label or your setup password when the model has no shared default.

Admin password or Wi-Fi password?

The admin password opens the router’s settings. The Wi-Fi password connects a device to the wireless network. They may be different, and an ISP or cloud account can be separate again.

If the password does not work

Check capitalization and the device label, then use the manufacturer’s password-recovery instructions. A factory reset erases settings and may require ISP setup details; follow the instructions for your exact model.
