PRIOR TO INSTALLATION, PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • CAUTION – THESE RETROFIT LAMPS ARE DESIGNED TO OPERATE ON LINE VOLTAGE, BALLAST MUST BE BYPASSED. SUITABLE FOR USE IN DRY OR DAMP LOCATIONS.
  • SUITABLE FOR USE IN ENCLOSED LUMINAIRES.
  • NOT FOR EMERGENCY LIGHTING.
  • NOT FOR USE IN ENVIRONMENTS WHERE EXPLOSIVE OR CORROSIVE GASES ARE PRESENT.
  • DO NOT MAKE OR ALTER ANY OPEN HOLES IN AN ENCLOSURE OF WIRING OR ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS DURING KIT INSTALLATION.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Turn off power to the luminaire at switch and circuit breaker. Allow luminaire to cool before proceeding.
  2. Ensure that the luminaire and electrical inputs meet the requirements in the table. The lamp may be installed in an open or enclosed fixture indoors, or an enclosed fixture outdoors. Please ensure that the lamp is protected from direct water spray and bugs.
  3. If a ballast is present, it must be bypassed. If desired, it may be removed. Please refer to the wiring diagram. Disconnect or cut the wires to and from the ballast. Connect the line and neutral wires to the socket leads as shown in the wiring diagram. Product may be installed using two hot leads if a neutral is not available. Check that voltage meets the requirements. The included in-line fuse must be installed per the wiring diagram.
  4. Select lamp light color and wattage by using the switches on the side of the lamp.
  5. Inspect the lamp holder for arcing or corrosion and replace if damaged.
  6. Screw the lamp into the lamp holder. Do not over-torque as this could cause damage.
  7. Ensure that the socket is properly mounted and has adequate strength to support the lamp. Refer to support leg instructions for lamps not mounted vertically.
  8. Attach safety cable to the lamp and luminaire see next page for more details.
  9. Apply included label to the inside of the luminaire where it will be visible during re-lamping.
  10. Turn on electrical power to the luminaire and verify proper operation.

IN-LINE FUSE

  1. The included inline fuse must be installed per the wiring diagram.
  2. If the fuse is blown check the installation before replacing. Replace the fuse with an 8A, 660V fast acting fuse. The fuse size is ¼” diameter by 1 ¼” long.

SAFETY CABLE

  1. The lamp must be secured by attaching safety cable to both the lamp and to the luminaire.
  2. Loop the cable around a structural part of the luminaire and then attach to the lamp at the hole near the base.

SUPPORT LEG

  1. For applications where the lamp in not mounted vertically the support leg is used to align the device in the lamp holder.
