General Description
The LEHMANN Firmware Updater software is a software for updating the firmware on locks, RFID readers and terminals from Lehmann. This software is not intended for use on third-party products and can destroy products that do not come from Lehmann. Using this software with third-party products will result in the loss of any claims.
This documentation provides you with the required information to update the lock of the RFID reader without error. Be sure to observe all safety notices and read this documentation completely before starting to update the firmware.

Safety instructions
When opening the battery compartment of a lock and inserting a battery, the instructions for the respective lock must be observed.
When transferring the lock to the bootloader mode, the accessories authorized by Lehmann must be used. The use of any third-party tools leads to the loss of any claims. For a firmware update of the locks, suitable batteries must be correctly inserted in the lock.

Installation of USB Driver
When installing the software Lehmann Firmware Updater, a USB driver is installed on your Windows. As soon as the software Lehmann Firmware Updater is installed, you can connect your lock / RFID reader to the PC / laptop. Please refer to the separate document (Installation Guide for Lehmann Firmware Updater) for the installation of the software and the USB driver.
Selection of Firmware
The software Lehmann Firmware Updater automatically searches for the latest firmware versions and downloads it for you.
If you require a customer-specific firmware, Lehmann will provide it to you. To transfer a customer specific firmware to a device, activate the “Update specific firmware” check box. This activates the “Select firmware” button and you can select the firmware provided by Lehmann. 
The correct file-type is preselected for you, so that only files of the correct type are displayed (* .DFU files).
Activation of Bootloader Mode
To update the firmware on the corresponding product, the product must first be put into bootloader mode. To put the Captura and Giro RFID battery-powered RFID locks into bootloader mode, the lock must be in the open position. For these two locks, a product-specific adapter from LEHMANN is required, which is connected to the lock in the battery compartment. For this purpose, LEHMANN will provide you with a separate operating manual if required. Connect the adapter to a PC/laptop using a USB cable. If a master card has been programmed, the master card and then the update card must be held in front of the lock. If the lock is in the factory delivery mode, simply hold the update card in front of the lock.
The corresponding product will then be displayed with the current firmware in the LEHMANN Firmware Updater. In order to put the external RFID readers L033-A0x and L043-A0x into bootloader mode, the RFID reader and the associated lock must be in the open position. Connect the RFID reader to the PC/laptop using a USB cable. If a master card has been programmed into the L033-A0x or L043-A0x RFID readers, the master card and then the update card must be held in front of the RFID reader. If the RFID reader is in the factory delivery state, simply hold the update card in front of the RFID reader. The corresponding product will then be displayed with the current firmware in the LEHMANN Firmware Updater.
To put the M410, M420 or M610 locks into bootloader mode, connect the lock to the PC/laptop using a USB cable. Use a programming stick to press the so-called “Learn Button” on the lock for approx. 10 seconds until the lock emits 3 long acoustic signals. The corresponding product will then be displayed with the current firmware in the LEHMANN Firmware Updater. If an RFID lock or an RFID reader has been programmed in the LEHMANN Management Software LMS, first follow the instructions in the LMS to update the firmware.
Updating firmware
The LEHMANN Firmware Updater software checks the firmware whether it is compatible with your lock or RFID reader. Only if this check is positive, the “Update Firmware” button will be activated. To update the firmware, click on the “Update Firmware” button.
Your lock or RFID reader will now be updated and then restarted so that the lock or RFID reader is back in standard mode. Updating the firmware does not delete your settings in the lock or RFID reader and the settings will be available again after the update. 
If you want to update several locks or RFID readers one after the other, you can activate the “Auto Update” check box. Then the connected devices will be updated immediately as soon as they are recognized by the software. The “Update Firmware” button starts the process. The progress of the update process is shown to you with a progress bar. In addition, the individual steps are given to you as text so that you can always find out the current status. You can use the “Restart product” button to switch from the bootloader mode of the lock or RFID reader to standard operation. If you press the button during the firmware update, the update process is interrupted and must be restarted using the “Update Firmware” button.
The “To clipboard” button copies all information about the connected lock or RFID reader to the clipboard.
Update of the software LEHMANN Firmware Updater
In the update window, click on the “Information” icon at the top right .
In the following pop-up window, click on the “Check for update” button. If updates are available, the software will be updated. To do this, the PC/laptop must be connected to the Internet.
