INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Fix to Formwork
PLEXUS® or PYRAPLEX® units are nailed into position on the formwork prior to pouring concrete, with the anchors facing away from the shuttering.Nevoga-PLEXUS-Reinforcement-Systems-fig-1
  2. Strike Formwork and Remove Casing
When the concrete has been poured & cured and the formwork struck, the PVC lid of the PLEXUS® or PYRAPLEX® unit should be visible on the surface of the concrete. Remove the plastic casing to reveal the reinforcement bars. As a result of the perforation, the remaining strips on each side of the cover can be removed very easily. According to the DBV leaflet, plastic parts must be removed completely!Nevoga-PLEXUS-Reinforcement-Systems-fig-2
  3. Straighten Reinforcement Bars
For rebending the rebars, use a rebending tool with a diameter slightly larger than the rebar diameter. The rebending tool is applied up to the start of the bend and the reinforcing bars are brought into the desired position by bending and regripping step by step.
Important: According to the German Society for Concrete and Construction Technology (DBV), multiple bending back and forth at the same point is not permitted! Further information on this and the permissible cranking dimension can be found in the DBV leaflet. After all reinforcement bars have been bent back, they can be connected to the reinforcement of the second concreting section before the next concrete pour.

  4. Subsequent Concrete Pour
The casing remains embedded in the wall, providing a rebate and key for the subsequent pour of the adjoining member.
