This camera comes with two rechargeable battery, you can install the battery to use the camera. But when you install the battery, please make sure the battery was installed on the right way; otherwise, the camera might can’t work with battery.
The USB to move pictures is not like an Android fitting, it’s more like tge charger cable size used with a PS3, that thicker USB. The lens stays flat on the camera, it doesn’t come out when you zoom. Note: if you try and zoom while filming a video, you can hear the “clicking” as it zooms in or zooms out…very annoying and unprofessional. This is more a starter camera, or a camera to carry that you won’t get heartbroken if you’re robbed.

I’m not exactly sure what you mean, unless the camera was left outside in below-freezing weather. I would guess that as long as it didn’t get wet, and it was brought inside to warm up, it should work. It’s possible that the battery might not work, but that can be replaced, or possibly recharged.
