FAQ’s
Yes. In compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and/or ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 standard, traceable to NIST, JIS & DIN under ILAC & A2LA, recognized third-party independent bodies in the USA, UK, Germany, and Japan have calibrated and tested Digi-Pas Precision Digital Levels.
Yes. Prior to shipping, all Digi-Pas® Precision Digital Levels have been calibrated at our factories. The Digital Levels are truly ready to use right away, however, we strongly advise that you self-calibrate them first to ensure their greatest accuracy.
To maintain optimum precision conformity, users are advised to calibrate their measurement tools and instruments on a regular basis. The accuracy of the device may occasionally be impacted by incorrect handling, transporting, storing (such as outside of the recommended storage temperature range) and unintentional exposure to physical shock (such as dropping or slamming the device against some hard objects).
Anytime you question the accuracy of your digital level, drop it accidentally, or cause it to overheat (by, for example, overexposing it to heat over an extended length of time). By setting your digital level down on a spotless flat surface and viewing the readings it displays in two directions (0° and 180°), you can quickly ensure that it is positioned precisely.
Inverted facings and directions result in identical readings. (For instance, 0.0°, 0.1°, or 0.05° depending on the model) The two readings are different but fall within the device’s tolerance, which might range from 0.05° to 0.1° depending on the type. When: The device needs to be calibrated. The two readings are completely out of range or the difference between them exceeds the resolution of the equipment. By following the directions in the user manual or the films on this page, you can recalibrate the digital level.
The surface upon which the user places the digital level must not deviate from the horizontal level by more than 1° for the horizontal calibration (steps 1 & 2) to produce the best calibration results. The Digi-Pas® digital level must be placed on a true vertical surface for vertical calibration (steps 3 and 4), however, in order to get the best calibration results.
As an alternative, the user may get in touch with the distributor or representative of the relevant manufacturer to get competent calibration at recognized third-party independent calibration service providers close to the user’s location. Details can be found in the Digi-Pas® instruction manual.
Like any measuring tool or instrument, the accuracy of your digital level will be impacted by accidental drops and storage outside of the recommended temperature range. The mechanical shock from impact during a drop or thermal expansions and contractions from being stored at the wrong temperature could also result in a structural deformation.
If the digital level is set down on a rough, unclean, or uneven surface, this scenario could occur. The angle measured on these surfaces will be incorrect because digital levels are very sensitive to uneven surfaces. To get accurate readings, make sure the contact surfaces are smooth and clean. For instance, a clean glass surface table finish is typically necessary to evaluate the accuracy of your digital level (0.1° or 0.05° depending on the model).
The tolerance of these digital levels is 0.1° at 0° and 90° for Digi-Pas® digital levels with a resolution of 0.1° (DWL80E and DWL200). For instance, the digital reading is 0° when it is on a table. The reading should be 0° or 0.1° after turning the gadget 180°. The digital level needs to be re-calibrated if the readings change by more than 0.1°. The tolerance of these Digi-Pas® digital level models (DWL80Pro, DWL180, DWL280, and DWL600F) with 0.05° resolution is 0.05° at 0° and 90°. The digital level should also be re-calibrated if the readings when tested in two distinct directions (0° and 180°) deviate by more than 0.05°.
The Digi-Pas® digital levels vary in precision from 0.05° to 0.1° at 0° and 90° to 0.2Degrees or 0.3° at other °, depending on the type. The precision of the spirit bubble vials is only 0.5°.
The tolerance of these digital levels at 0 and 90° for Digi-Pas® digital level models with a resolution of 0.05° (for example, models like the DWL-80Pro, DWL-180, DWL-280, and DWL-600F) is 0.05°. When the digital level is first placed on the table and reads 0.00°, it should read 0.00 or 0.05° after being turned 180° and position in the same location. If nothing of those readings appear, the level should be recalibrated.
The digital level may not have been used properly if the display reading “flickers” or doesn’t show any readings at all during measurements. The user is responsible for positioning their Digi-Pas® digital levels firmly (i.e., without swaying) on the surface to be measured.
The user can select an angle and mark it as a “alternative zero angle point” using the Alternate Zero feature. With the use of this function, users can find angles relative to a referenced angle of 0° without having to perform any math.
All Digi-Pas digital levels come with a one-year warranty from the date of purchase. The warranty provides free coverage for errors in materials or workmanship. The maker retains the option to replace the item with a new one or restore it back to functioning order.
Digital levels from Digi-Pas are not completely waterproof. DWL280Pro and DWL680Pro are models that are waterproof. These models are not only waterproof, but also shock, dust, and freeze-proof. They are solely dust-resistant for the remaining models (DWL80 Series, DWL100 Series, DWL200 Series, DWL600F, and DWL1000XY). The warranty coverage is nullified by any water damage.
