LARSON ELECTRONICS DCP-12×16-10A-WP Encapsulated DC to DC Stepdown Transformer Instruction Manual
LARSON ELECTRONICS DCP-12x16-10A-WP Encapsulated DC to DC Stepdown Transformer

Do not attempt installation until you are familiar with all warnings, precautions, and procedures outlined within this instruction sheet.

WARNING:
READ CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING FIXTURE. RETAIN THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. CRITICAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:
Risk of electrical shock and energy hazard. All failure should be examined by a qualified technician. Please do NOT remove the case of the power supply by yourself.

Please do NOT install power supplies in places with high ambient temperature or close to a fire source. Please refer to the specifications about the maximum ambient temperature limitations.

Output current and output wattage must not exceed the rated values on the specifications.
The Larson Electronics DCP-12×16-10A-WP Waterproof DC to DC Step-down Transformer converts 12V DC electrical current to 16V DC at 10 amps max. This converter includes flying leads to hard wire this unit inline. This unit takes 12 volts DC and converts it to 16 volts DC, allowing users to use 12 volt DC power to operate equipment that require 16 volts DC current.

INSTALLATION

This transformer includes 6” wires for both the input and output connections. All leads are stripped and tinned for equipment installation. This converter operates within voltages 12V DC and converts it to 16V DC @ 10 Amps. This allows users to use 16V DC equipment on a variable DC power supply.
Installation
Make sure power is turned off prior to wiring! Take all appropriate steps for waterproofing connections as necessary.
Connect input lead to power source. Connect equipment to output side. The connected device(s) will power once the converter is energized. If not, check power source and connections.

NOTE: In order to obtain the best performance and the longest operational life from these units, it is recommended that you do not exceed 75% of the unit’s output amperage. To determine if this converter suits your desired application, add together the total wattage of the equipment you intend to use with this unit and divide this total by 16 volts to find the total amperage draw that will be placed upon the converter. For example, if you are using one of our 160 watt LED lights, 160 watts divided by 16 volts is 5 amps. This would mean the DCP 16-DP is well suited as it would run at under 75% capacity to produce the necessary 10 amps. Running these units at 100% of their capacity can create excess heat and lead to shortened converter life.

*See product nameplate for exact voltage requirements.
