Audio/Video Settings in LXSoftware 11.10+
- Open LXSoftware and go to Audio/Video > Preferences tab.
- Ensure Audio/Video mode is set to Record audio and video.
- Select the camera by checking the Active box and clicking Edit.
- Set Resolution to 640 x 360 and keep the frame rate at default. Click OK.
- Go to the Video Tab and choose your Windows recording format (Medium or Medium Low recommended by Lafayette). Click OK.

Lafayette Instrument Company has thoroughly tested and recommends the following web cameras when utilizing the Audio/Video features within LXSoftware.

Note: If your camera is not listed, our team has not specifically verified it will function properly. Regardless of your camera’s model, all Audio/Video setups should be fully tested before usage in the field. We also recommend that you use the most current Logitech Camera available and ensure that it functions correctly on your Windows operating system (Windows 10 or newer).
Settings for Audio / Video Recording
- Open LXSoftware and navigate to the Audio/Video > Preferences tab.
- Verify that Audio/Video mode is set to “Record audio and video.”
- Select the camera. The selected camera is denoted by a check mark in the Active box and is highlighted blue. Click Edit.
- Ensure your Resolution is set to 640 x 360, and your frame rate is set to default. Click OK
- Navigate to the Video Tab and select your Windows recording format. Lafayette recommends you use Medium or Medium Low for best results. Click OK.
Troubleshooting
Note: If your camera does not work properly outside of LXSoftware (via your Camera app or another application), it will not work properly in LXSoftware. Ensure you have all your Windows and firmware updates completed, you can locate those under Settings > Windows Updates. Some anti-virus applications will block Lafayette software and its application process; you may need to put our software on your anti-virus exception or whitelist. To locate the files you need to add to that list, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Lafayette Instrument\LXSoftware. If you are unable to put the entire Lafayette Instrument folder and its subfolders on your exception list, you must at a minimum select the files at right.
