Omnipod 5 App for iPhone
INTRODUCTION
Thank you for taking part in the limited market release for the new Omnipod 5 App for iPhone. At present, the Omnipod 5 App for iPhone is only available to a select group of people. That’s why the app is not yet in the Apple App store. To download it, you need to use a unique method, which involves the TestFlight app.
What is TestFlight?
Think of TestFlight as an early access version of the Apple App Store. It’s a platform for downloading apps that are not yet publicly available, and it was created by Apple for this purpose.
Note: While TestFlight will work on iOS 14.0 and above, the Omnipod 5 App requires iOS 17. Please update your phone to iOS 17 prior to downloading the Omnipod 5 App for iPhone.
Downloading TestFlight
- For the next steps, you must use the device you plan to use with the Omnipod 5 App for iPhone with!
Note: The Omnipod 5 App requires iOS 17! - You’ll receive a personalized TestFlight invitation via email.
- In the email, tap View in TestFlight. Your device’s browser opens.
- Write down the Redeem Code. You’ll need to enter it later.
- Tap Get TestFlight from the App Store.
- You’ll be redirected to the Apple App Store. Tap the download icon.
- Once TestFlight has finished downloading, tap Open.
- You’ll be prompted to allow notifications. We recommend enabling them. Tap Allow.
- Carefully read Test-Flight’s terms and conditions. You must accept them to use the Omnipod 5 App. Tap Continue.
Redeeming the invitation and installing the Omnipod 5 App for iPhone
- After you’ve accepted Testflight’s Terms and Conditions, you will see this screen. Tap Redeem.
- Enter the Redeem Code you wrote down earlier. Tap Redeem.
- Tap INSTALL to down-load the Omnipod 5 App for iPhone.
Note: The Omnipod 5 App for iPhone requires iOS 17.
- Once the Omnipod 5 App for iPhone has finished installing, tap OPEN.
- If prompted to allow Bluetooth, tap OK. Then tap Next.
Updating the Omnipod 5 App for iPhone during limited market release
- If the Omnipod 5 App for iPhone needs to be updated, you’ll receive a notification to Update Now.
- Tap Update Now.
- Note: It is important that you use TestFlight to do the update. Avoid uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Uninstalling the app will result in the loss of your settings, and you will have to complete a first-time setup again!
