Load Securing Guidelines
To all sales companies and sales partners of Albert Handtmann Maschinenfabrik
SALES INFORMATION NO. 369
EXTRAORDINARY OPERATION CLOSURE
Dear Handtmann partners,
The safety of the machines during transport is of high importance. In order to avoid accidents and damage, we would like to inform you about proper loading and load securing.
An unproperly secured machine and load can cause considerable risks for employees, road safety and the environment. In addition, unsecured machines can be damaged during transport.
We therefore ask you to take responsibility for checking the following minimum load securing measures depending on the goods being transported:
Loading
- Use robust packaging:
Ensure that the packaging can withstand the load of the machines. Packaging must be stable and free from damage. - Secure anchoring of the machines:
Secure the machines inside the packaging with suitable brackets and fixing devices. There must be no room for movement that could allow the machine to slip or fall over. - Padding and protective material:
Use padding and filling materials, if necessary, to absorb shocks and vibrations during transport.
Load securing
- Use suitable securing equipment:
Use certified and tested lashing equipment such as straps, chains and tension belts. Ensure that these are in perfect condition. - Proper distribution of the load:
Ensure that the load is evenly distributed on the loading surface to prevent the machines from tilting or shifting. - Additional securing for bulky machines:
Additional measures, such as bracing or using anti-slip mats, are required for bulky or particularly heavy machines. - Regular inspection:
Regularly check that the load is secured during transport, especially after long journeys or in bumpy road conditions.
