Trend RV-WMB Wallbus Room Display

Description

The RV-WMB Room View display is designed for mounting on a standard electrical back box. It includes temperature and humidity sensors. It features a high-definition colour backlit LCD touch screen display with occupation override, setpoint, and fan speed control. The unit is designed to operate with Trend IQ4 and IQeco controllers and connects via a two-wire, polarity-independent wall bus that carries both data and power.

The display shows room temperature, humidity, CO₂ concentration, and outside air temperature. It is divided into three main areas: Main Value (defaulting to Room temperature), Status Bar, and Function Buttons.

Status Bar Icons:

• Humidity: 43%RH
• CO₂ Concentration: 732 ppm
• Outside Air Temperature: 19 °C
• CO₂ Icon: Indicates CO₂ level graphically (green for low, amber for medium, red for high).

Functionality

The RV-WMB allows local adjustment of setpoint, fan speed, and occupancy. It includes temperature and humidity sensors and can output temperature in °C or °F, also calculating dew point. The display and adjustable parameters are configured via the controller.

The unit supports up to four function buttons, configurable for various controls like blinds, heating, lights, and windows. The display can show room temperature, setpoint, CO₂ concentration, and outside air temperature.

Function Buttons:

• Button 1 & 2: Typically used for fan speed and occupancy override.
• Other buttons: Can be configured for lights, blinds, etc.
• Icons: Can be customized to represent the controlled function.

Display Areas:

• Main Value: Displays primary information like room temperature or setpoint.
• Status Bar: Shows humidity, CO₂ concentration, and outside air temperature.
• Function Buttons: Touch-sensitive areas for user interaction.

Hardware

Enclosure: Consists of a plastic back plate and a clip-on main module. Designed for mounting on standard electrical back boxes, US/Danish conduit boxes, or 60 mm wall outlet boxes. Requires space around the unit for airflow.

Input Power Supply: Powered via the wallbus connection from the controller. Requires a minimum of 30mA. The number of devices on the wallbus is limited by the controller's supply.

Backup/Transfer: Configuration is stored in non-volatile memory and can be backed up to a micro SD card for transfer to other RV-WMB units.

Display: Colour backlit LCD display.

Communication: Connects to the controller's wallbus port using two polarity-independent wires.

Configuration

The RV-WMB's configuration is managed through a Settings Menu, protected by a 4-digit PIN. Key settings include:

• Set PIN: Change the access PIN.
• Homescreen: Define the main display parameter (e.g., Room Temperature, Temp Setpoint).
• Show Logo: Option to display or hide the Trend logo.
• Setpoint Type: Choose between numerical or graphical display for the setpoint.
• Orientation: Select portrait or landscape mode.
• Colour Scheme: Choose from various colour options.
• Button Configuration: Customize function buttons (icons, actions).
• CO₂ Configuration: Set thresholds for CO₂ level indication.
• Device Address: Set the RV-WMB's address on the wallbus (default is 2).
• Firmware Version: Displays the current firmware version.
• Upgrade Firmware: Initiate firmware updates from micro SD card.
• Load/Save Configuration: Backup and restore settings using micro SD card.

Use with IQ4/IQeco: Configuration can be done via IQ®SET strategy blocks or manual configuration of the Wallbus Interface module. Important: PVs linked via the strategy block can overwrite Settings Menu changes.

Process Variables (PVs)

Information is exchanged between the controller and RV-WMB via Process Variables (PVs). These can be inputs, outputs, or input/outputs, facilitating data transfer for temperature, humidity, setpoint, fan status, and more.

Compatibility

The RV-WMB is compatible with IQeco (firmware version 2 or greater) and IQ4 (firmware version 3.30 or greater). IQ SET v7.0 or greater is required for IQ4 configuration, and IQ SET v7.04 for IQeco v2.3 or greater. IQeco standard strategies can use the RV-WMB without additional engineering.

Field Maintenance

The RV-WMB requires no routine maintenance.

Disposal

COSHH Assessment: No parts affected for disposal.

Recycling: All plastic and metal parts are recyclable. Printed circuit boards can be sent to PCB recovery contractors. Dispose of according to WEEE Directive guidelines; do not dispose of with household waste or burn.

Installation

The RV-WMB mounts on a standard electrical back box or front panel using two screws. The installation involves mounting the unit, connecting to the controller, configuring the controller and RV-WMB, and testing operation. Detailed procedures are in the RV-WMB Installation Instructions (TG201355).

Order Codes

• RV-WMB-TH: Room Display (complete with dust cover). Compatible with IQ4 or IQeco with wallbus connection. Features temperature, humidity, dew point, setpoint control, occupation override/status, fan speed control, and display of CO₂ and outside temperature.
• RV-WMB-TH-BX: Room Display without bezel, for use with RV-BW-A paintable bezel. Same features as RV-WMB-TH.
• RV-BW-A: Paintable bezel for use with RV-WMB-TH-BX.
