Main Controls and Parts of the Radio

Rotate the Power/Volume knob clockwise to turn on the radio. Continue rotating clockwise or counter-clockwise to adjust the volume to your preference. To turn the radio off, rotate the knob counter-clockwise until you hear a mechanical “click.”

This product provides 16 PMR channels. After powering on, you can select your desired channel by briefly pressing Side Key 1 or Side Key 2. A voice prompt will announce the current channel number.

Make sure all radios in your group are on the same channel.
- Hold Side Key 1 to activate the Monitor function and check that the channel is free.
- Press and hold the PTT button to talk.

Side Key 1 / Side Key 2
These are customizable keys with four optional functions: Monitor, Scan, SOS, and Key Lock. You can assign functions using the programming software.

The Monitor function temporarily opens the squelch, allowing you to hear weak signals that would not normally break through. Press and hold Side Key 1 or Side Key 2 to activate this feature. - ស្កេន
The Scan function searches for active signals on the programmed channels. When Side Key 1 or 2 is set to Scan, press and hold the key for 2 seconds until you hear the “ON” tone and release. The green LED will flash slowly, indicating the radio has entered Scan mode. When a valid signal with matching frequency and CTCSS/DCS is detected, communication can begin.
If no signal is received and no [PTT] is pressed within 4 seconds, scanning resumes. Press and hold the same key again for 2 seconds until you hear the “OFF” tone to exit.
(Note: At least two channels must be added to the scan list via programming software for scanning to work.) - អេសអូអេស
The SOS function signals an emergency by transmitting a high-frequency alarm. Other radios on the same frequency and CTCSS/DCS settings can receive the alert, indicating that help is needed. Assign SOS to Side Key 1 or Side Key 2 via the programming software. Press and hold the assigned key to activate the alarm mode. The radio will continuously sound the SOS alert until the [PTT] button is pressed to stop it. - សោរចាក់សោរ
The Keypad Lock function prevents accidental key presses. When assigned to Side Key 1 or 2, press and hold this key for 2 seconds until a beep sounds to lock the keypad. Press and hold the same key again for 2 seconds until a double beep sounds to unlock it. - ច្របាច់ក
- The Squelch function suppresses noise on idle channels and enables reception of even weak signals. The Echo Series provides 10 adjustable Squelch levels through the programming software:
- Level 0: Squelch is turned off.
- Levels 1 – 9: Different levels of noise suppression.
- The higher the level, the stronger the noise suppression. By default, the Echo Series is set to Level 4.

- If set too low, noise may be unmuted even when no valid signals are present.
- Always adjust the squelch when no signals are being received.
The Time-Out Timer (TOT) can be set from 30 to 270 seconds via the programming software. This function is disabled by default.

CTCSS and DCS tones act like access codes, allowing the radio to communicate only with other radios on the same channel using the same code. Signals from radios on the same frequency but with different CTCSS/DCS tones will be ignored, preventing unwanted transmissions from being received. - Language Selection (for Echo-DE)

- The Time-Out Timer prevents prolonged continuous transmission on a single channel.
- You can set the TOT duration via programming software—from 15 seconds up to 300 seconds in 15-second increments.
- If you transmit continuously for the set TOT period, the radio will automatically stop transmitting and sound a waming tone.
- Release the [PTT] key to silence the warning, then press [PTT] again to resume transmission.
- VOX Frequency Hopping Function
- The VOX feature allows hands-free communication without pressing the PTT button. Simply speak toward the microphone, and transmission is automatically activated.
- VOX sensitivity can be adjusted to 9 levels (1—9) via the programming software: Level 2 is the default, and Level 9 is the lowest sensitivity.
- Using the programming software, you can enable or disable VOX and select the desired sensitivity level.
