Installation Steps
Step 1
Start the installation under the passenger/right side of the vehicle. Locate the front factory running board mounting location along the inner side of the body.
Diagram (Fig 1) shows the passenger side front mounting location on the underside of a vehicle body. Arrows indicate mounting studs.
Step 2
Slide one (1) Plastic Retainer over each of the three (3) factory mounting studs in the body panel.
IMPORTANT: The Plastic Retainers are designed to prevent corrosion between the aluminum body panel and the steel mounting brackets. Do not install the Brackets without the Plastic Retainers.
Diagram (Fig 2) shows a single plastic insulation washer. Diagram (Fig 3) shows plastic retainers being threaded onto mounting studs on the passenger side rear of the vehicle body.
Step 3
Select one (1) Mounting Bracket. Note: All four (4) Brackets are universal and will fit the left or right side. Attach the Mounting Bracket to the three (3) factory studs with three (3) 8mm Flat Washers, three (3) 8mm Lock Washers, and three (3) 8mm Hex Nuts. Leave the bracket loose at this time.
Diagram (Fig 4) illustrates the typical bracket installation, showing a bracket being attached with flat washers, lock washers, and hex nuts. Diagram (Fig 5) shows a passenger side front bracket installed on the vehicle body.
Step 4
Repeat Steps 1-3 for bracket installation on the passenger/right rear side.
Diagram (Fig 6) shows a passenger side rear bracket installed on the vehicle body, with components listed: (3) 8mm Flat Washers, (3) 8mm Lock Washers, and (3) 8mm Hex Nuts.
Step 5
Select one (1) Running Board. Place the Running Board on top of the Brackets. Locate the channel in the bottom of the Running Board. Select two (2) 8mm Double Bolt Plates. Insert the Bolt Plates into the channel in the bottom of the Running Board closest to the Brackets. Lift the Running Board up and guide the studs through the Brackets.
Diagram (Fig 7) shows an 8mm Double Bolt Plate being slid into the channel on the underside of the running board.
Step 6
Attach the Running Board to the Brackets with four (4) 8mm Flat Washers and four (4) 8mm Nylon Lock Nuts. Do not tighten hardware.
Diagram (Fig 8) pictures the passenger side front bracket attached to the running board, showing two (2) 8mm Flat Washers and two (2) 8mm Nylon Lock Nuts used for attachment. Diagram (Fig 9) pictures the passenger side rear bracket attached to the running board, also using two (2) 8mm Flat Washers and two (2) 8mm Nylon Lock Nuts.
Step 7
Level and adjust the Running Board as necessary and fully tighten all hardware.
Step 8
Repeat Steps 1-7 for the driver/left side Running Board installation.
Step 9
Do periodic inspections to the installation to make sure that all hardware is secure and tight.
