Zebra Services Agent and Zebra Services Battery Health Installation Guide for 42Gears Sure MDM

Introduction
42Gears SureMDM is an Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solution that empowers companies to securely manage any device or endpoint with any form-factor and any operating system throughout their entire lifecycle, from deployment to retirement.
Zebra Services Agent and Zebra Services Battery Health apps are designed to be installed and configured through EMM tools.
Pre-requisites
- Devices should be enrolled as ‘Fully Managed Device’.
- To verify if devices are configured as 'Fully Managed Device': Login to 42Gears console > Select any device > Right side corner > Check value of Android Enterprise.
Deployment of Zebra Service Battery Health
Keep Zebra Service Battery Health apk file ready and follow the below steps:
- Navigate to the SureMDM Console > App Store > Android.
- Click Add New App and select Upload APK.
- Click Browse File to upload the application.
- A security warning will appear. Select the check box [✔️] and click okay to proceed.
- On the Add App prompt, enter the Category and Description.

- App Title: Zebra Services Battery Health
- Category: Zebra Service Agent - Child Apps
- Package Id: com.zebra.battery_rul
- Version: 1.1.0.22
- Version Code: 11022
- Description: ZSBH 1.1.0.22 - testing with Sure MDM Managed config
Click the "Add" button after filling the details.
The application will be added to the SureMDM App Store.
Deployment of Zebra Services Agent
Keep Zebra Service Agent apk ready and follow the below steps:
- Navigate to the SureMDM Console > App Store > Android.
- Click Add New App and select Upload APK.
- Click Browse File to upload the application.

- On the Add App prompt, enter the Category and Description.

Click the "Add" button after filling the details.
The application will be added to the SureMDM App Store.
Job to Install Both Apps with Managed Configuration of ZSBH App
Follow the below steps to customize the app settings of ZSBH app:
- Navigate to Jobs > New Job > Android.
- Select the Install Application Job and click Add.
- Select "Use Apps from AppStore" [✔️].
- Select the application from the Apps drop-down menu. For ZSBH, select "Zebra Services Battery Health".
- If necessary, configure the other settings and click OK.
- The "Application Restrictions" prompt will appear with all the application settings. This dialog allows skipping configuration or setting custom parameters.
- Application Restrictions Dialog:
- Option to "Skip Configuration" [ ].
- Note: "This Feature will be supported on Android Enterprise enrolled devices running with SureMDM Agent versions 27.31.08 and above."
- Input field: "RULCustomMessage" with placeholder text "PUT_YOUR_CUSTOM_MESSAGE_HERE".
- Click "Done" after configuring or skipping.
To add ZSA app to the newly created Job:
- Navigate to Jobs > New Job > Android.
- Select the Install Application Job.
- Provide a Job Name and select Add.
- Select "Use Apps from AppStore" [✔️].
- Select the application from the Apps drop-down menu. For ZSA, select "Zebra Services Agent".
- Select "Install after copy" [✔️] and "Launch the application after install" [✔️] options.
- Click "OK".
Note: After having both apps added in the Job, select OK. Make sure to add ZSBH first, then ZSA in the Job. The newly created job will be listed in the Jobs List section.
Installation of Apps
Once the job creation is completed, follow the below steps to install the apps to the devices:
Home > Select all devices > Click Apply button > Select the job created earlier > Apply.
The applications should now be installed on the devices.

FAQ
Q: From where can we get to know the apps got installed into the respective devices in 42Gears?
Ans: Home > Device List > Select any device mentioned in the list > Select Apps tab on the top > Scroll down or search for the ZSA or ZSBH app.
Q: How to check if the app is installed with correct permissions and able to connect to Zebra servers?
Ans:
- Check App version. Click Settings > Apps > Click Zebra Services Agent.
- Check ZSA Permissions. Click Settings > Apps > Click Zebra Services Agent > Permissions.
- Check ZSA Network connectivity to Zebra URL. Launch ZSA and go to Settings > Refresh.
