Thank you for purchasing the Contixo F23 drone. Please carefully read all instructions and warnings before operating. Keep this manual for future reference and maintenance.

Never fly in or near controlled airspace, and do not exceed a height of 390 feet. Ensure compliance with FAA regulations within the United States. Avoid flying along airline routes or in areas with strong radio, electromagnetic, or electrostatic emissions. Do not operate the drone in any manner prohibited by local authorities. NEVER use the drone for illegal purposes or in violation of local laws and regulations.

The F23 drone is intended for users aged 14 and older. Supervision by experienced UAV pilots is recommended. This precisely engineered device integrates electronics, mechanical components, and high-frequency transmission technology for aerodynamic performance. Proper calibration, assembly, and testing are required to prevent complications or accidents. Users must operate the drone safely to avoid injuries, property damage, or loss of the drone during use.

Safety Precautions

This remote-control aircraft can be hazardous if not used properly. Maintain a safe distance from people, animals, and hazardous objects. Avoid flying in controlled airspace. Improper installation, adverse weather conditions, or inexperience may result in damage to the aircraft, property, or personal injury. Always remain vigilant and identify unsafe conditions to prevent accidents caused by negligence.

FCC Compliance

This equipment complies with the limits for a Class B digital device, as specified in part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to protect against harmful interference in residential installations. The equipment generates, uses, and may radiate radio frequency energy. Improper installation or use may cause interference with radio communications.

While compliance minimizes interference risks, it does not eliminate them entirely. If interference occurs, follow these steps:

7. This product contains small parts. Keep out of reach of children to prevent choking hazards or accidental ingestion.

8. Avoid flying near roads or high-traffic areas, as it is hazardous and may be illegal.

9. Dispose of packing materials promptly to prevent potential injury to children.

10. DO NOT disassemble or modify the aircraft, as this may lead to malfunction or failure during flight.

11. Insert batteries into the charger using a designated power source that matches the product's logo.

12. Use only manufacturer-approved charging cables to ensure safety.

13. Charge the battery under adult supervision. Keep it away from flammable materials during charging.

14. DO NOT short-circuit, crush, or puncture the battery to prevent damage or explosion.

15. Use only the specified Li-ion battery. DO NOT mix with other battery types.

16. The drone is equipped with an intelligent lithium battery.

17. DO NOT short-circuit, dismantle, or expose the battery to fire or excessive heat.

18. Keep the aircraft away from electrical equipment to prevent interference.

19. Maintain a safe distance from the high-speed rotors to prevent cuts or injuries.

20. Components may become hot during use. DO NOT touch the motors to avoid burns or injuries.

21. Use a 5V wall charger for charging. DO NOT use chargers exceeding 5V.

22. Always keep your drone within visual line of sight during operation.

23. DO NOT fly over groups of people to ensure safety.

24. Avoid flying over stadiums, sports events, or public gatherings.

25. Familiarize yourself with airspace restrictions and regulations before flying.

WARNING: ALWAYS SUPERVISE BATTERY CHARGING. UNPLUG THE BATTERY ONCE FULLY CHARGED. DO NOT OVERCHARGE THE BATTERY.

Exemption

Contixo Inc. is not liable for any direct or indirect damages resulting from the following circumstances:

  1. Damages caused by user impairment, including fatigue, illness, poor physical or mental health, or the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  2. Personal injury, property damage, or legal liability arising from user error, negligence, or intentional misuse.
  3. Damages resulting from flights conducted in prohibited areas, such as nature reserves or restricted airspace.
  4. Damages caused by improper operation, unauthorized modifications, or use of accessories or parts not approved by Contixo Inc.
  5. Failure to land following a low-pressure alarm, resulting in damage from crashes or falls.
  6. Damages caused by operating the quadcopter in an abnormal state, incomplete assembly, or with defective or missing parts.
  7. Damages caused by flying in areas with radio, electrostatic, or magnetic interference, including near power lines, large equipment, or transmission towers. Avoid government-restricted zones. Users must have a clear line of sight and wear prescribed eyewear if needed to operate safely.
  8. Damages caused by flights in adverse weather conditions, including rain, strong winds, snow, hail, or storms.
  9. Damages caused by natural disasters, including storms, floods, lightning, tsunamis, landslides, earthquakes, and other environmental hazards.
  10. Contixo Inc. is not liable for damages related to data, audio, or video obtained or recorded using the quadcopter.
  11. Damage to the battery resulting from improper use, mismatched chargers, or incompatible protection circuits.
  12. Contixo Inc. is not responsible for indirect losses or legal liabilities resulting from equipment or accessory issues (including memory cards), such as unsaved images or videos.
  13. Losses or legal liabilities resulting from reckless or unsafe operation due to insufficient flight training.
  14. Users agree to operate this product only for legitimate purposes and comply with all applicable policies or guidelines provided by Contixo Inc. This document may be updated to reflect changes in software versions or terms of use. Users are advised to carefully review updates before installing new software versions. Contixo Inc. reserves the right to revise this manual with or without prior notice.

Flight Safety

Wi-Fi transmission area requirements:

  1. Ensure the drone is flown in an open area without any interference or obstacles.
  2. Do not fly against the wind.

Flight Environment:

Maximum flight altitude height is about 120 meters (390 feet).

Avoid flying over or near obstacles, crowds, high-voltage power lines, trees, airports, or bodies of water. DO NOT fly near strong electromagnetic sources such as power lines and base stations as it may affect the onboard compass.

DO NOT use the drone in adverse weather conditions such as rain, snow, fog, and wind speeds exceeding 12 mph (5 m/s).

Stay away from the rotating propellers and motors. ⚠️

It's important to understand basic flight guidelines for the safety of both you and those around you. Don't forget to read the Safety Guidelines before flight.

Aircraft

Aircraft Diagram

The aircraft features a Power Switch, Propellers (labeled A and B), a main Camera, and a Bottom Camera (for Optical Flow function). The Battery is also integrated into the design.

Assemble the Propeller

Note that each propeller is marked with the letter "A" or "B". Ensure all propellers are attached to the correct motor position. The propellers are typically pre-mounted.

Remote Control Operating Method

The remote control uses two joysticks: Left Joystick for Throttle and Direction (Up/Down/Left/Right), and Right Joystick for Direction (Forward/Backward/Turn Left/Turn Right).

Battery

Charge the Drone's Battery

1. Press down on the buckle and remove the lithium battery from the drone.

2. Connect the USB charging cable to the charging interface of the lithium battery. A 5V/1A phone charger adapter is recommended (not included).

Lithium Battery Charging Instructions

1. Remove the battery from the aircraft. Connect the Type-C charger to a DC power supply (5V, 1A) and then to the battery's charging port. The indicator light turns on when charging and turns off when fully charged.

2. The quadcopter can also be charged by a mobile power bank or a car charger.

3. Fully charging the battery takes about 2.5 hours; operating time is about 22 minutes.

Charge the Remote Control

Connect the Type-C charger to a DC power supply (5V, 1A) and then to the charging port of the monitor. The indicator light turns on when charging and turns off when fully charged. Fully charging the battery takes about 60 minutes.

Flight

Step 1: Turn on the drone and set it down on a level surface

Switch on the aircraft; you will see flashing green lights (front arm) + red lights (rear arm). Place the aircraft on a level surface; it will enter frequency-matching mode automatically.

Step 2: Power on the remote control

Turn the power switch to the right to power on the remote. When the remote control pairs successfully, you will hear a beep sound, and the red light of the remote control will be solid.

Step 3: Connect APP / Monitor

The monitor will automatically turn on and connect with the drone. If you want to connect the drone to the mobile app, you need to turn off the monitor first. Hold the power switch of the monitor to turn it off. Connect your mobile device to the Wi-Fi of the aircraft and check the aircraft's status on the "Contixo F25" APP.

Note: Drone can only be viewed on one device at a time.

Step 4: Compass Calibration

Click the Compass Calibration button to start. The green light (front arm) + red light (rear arm) will turn off. The app aircraft status will show: "Calibrate".

It is recommended to calibrate the compass before the first flight or after changing the flight site.

Step 5: Compass Calibration - Part 1

Pick up the aircraft horizontally and rotate it clockwise (360 degrees) until you hear a beep sound from the remote. Green lights (front arm) will turn solid on.

Step 6: Compass Calibration - Part 2

Pick up the aircraft, keep it facing down, then rotate it clockwise (360 degrees) until you hear 2 beep sounds from the remote. Red lights (rear arm) will turn solid on.

Step 7: GPS Search (DO NOT use GPS Mode Indoors)

Reposition the aircraft on a horizontal surface. The blue light above the battery and camera will keep flashing, indicating the GPS is searching for satellites. This step takes a few minutes. A solid blue light above the battery and camera means the GPS satellite search is successful.

Tall structures and large metal structures may affect the accuracy of the onboard compass and GPS navigation system. Please search for the GPS signal in open areas.

Step 8: Calibrate Gyroscope

Click the Calibrate Gyroscope button. Gyroscope calibration in progress: All lights of the drone keep flashing. Gyroscope calibrated: All lights of the drone are solid.

Please place the aircraft horizontally on a level ground surface to calibrate. Otherwise, flight may be affected.

Step 9: Starting / Stopping Motors

Once all the lights on the drone are solid, the drone can take off.

Click the unlock button or hold the joysticks into 7 and 5 o'clock positions to start the motors. Motors will start automatically; push the left joystick up or click the one-key takeoff button for the aircraft to take off.

Start of the motors should be initiated before the aircraft takes off.

Stopping Motors:

  1. Hold the joysticks into the 7 and 5 o'clock positions again for the motors to halt.
  2. The motors will stop working if they are not operated after 10 seconds.

NOTICE: If the LED indicators of the aircraft (blue light above the battery and camera) keep flashing, this means the GPS signal is weak. Press and hold the GPS button for 3 seconds to turn off the GPS mode. The aircraft can then take off. The aircraft has no GPS signal in optional flow mode and cannot return to the take-off point, so please pay attention to the flight.

Download the Contixo F25 App

Scan the QR code (or search for "Contixo F25" on the App Store or Google Play Store) to download the app for iOS and Android devices.

To connect the drone: Access "Settings" on your smartphone, open "Wi-Fi Settings", and find "Contixo F23-XXXX". Once connected, exit the "Settings" app.

Open the "Contixo F25" App from your smartphone. Click the "Start" button to access the control interface.

Wait until all the lights on the drone are solid before initiating flight. This ensures GPS is synced and the aircraft is ready.

App Introduction

The app interface provides control over various functions:

Settings

Click the "Setting" button to change the resolution of videos and photos stored on the app.

How to Search for a Lost Drone

1. Click "Records" on the APP home page.

2. Click "Find aircraft" and follow the navigation to find your drone.

Save Photo and Video to Mobile App Album

Open the app and connect to the aircraft's Wi-Fi signal, select the gallery icon to enter the media library. Select a photo or video, hold for 2 seconds, and select "Download". Photos and videos are saved in the mobile album.

Photos and videos will be saved in the app album and on the SD card. The resolution may differ between the app album and the SD card.

App One Key Share Function

Open the app and click the gallery icon to access the media library. Click the photo you would like to share, then click the share icon (top right) to share over social media.

Aircraft Function Profile

1. App Control Mode

Successfully connect the aircraft Wi-Fi with your smartphone, then select the app control icon to control the drone.

Control is managed via joysticks: Left Joystick for Up/Down/Forward/Backward, Right Joystick for Left/Right/Turn Left/Turn Right.

2. Waypoint Flight

Ensure your smartphone has internet service. Click the map on the bottom right of the app to fetch map data. Connect your mobile device to the aircraft to view the map in the app. Select the waypoint icon. A red circle indicates the flight range. You can set up to 30 points within this range. Select the reset icon to clear points or the flight route. Click to confirm initiation of waypoint flight. Push the right joystick to cancel.

Waypoint Flight can only be activated in GPS mode.

3. Flight Path

Connect the aircraft Wi-Fi with your smartphone, select the flight path icon. Mark the path you plan to fly within the range shown on the right side of the app.

Flight Path can only be activated in Optical Flow mode.

4. Orbit Mode

1. Hover the aircraft at the point of interest.

2. Click the Orbit Mode icon from the app to initiate flight.

3. Push the right stick left or right to adjust the speed and direction of the drone.

4. Push the right stick back or forward to adjust the radius of the drone's orbit.

5. Click the Orbit Mode icon again on the app to exit.

Orbit Mode can only be activated in GPS mode.

5. GPS Follow-Me

When the "Follow Me" function is activated, the aircraft will follow the GPS coordinates of your smartphone. Ensure the smartphone is successfully connected to the aircraft and the app is open.

  1. Ensure the flight scope is within 50 meters.
  2. Select the Follow Me icon from the app interface; the aircraft will move along with the position coordinated by the app.
  3. Select the button again on the app interface to exit "Follow Me" mode.

Common Issues: GPS Follow-Me can only be activated in GPS mode. It can be affected by tall structures, trees, and areas with Wi-Fi interference. The function will not activate if the GPS signal is weak or GPS positioning is turned off on the mobile device. Use in an open area and be mindful of your surroundings. Aircraft is NOT equipped with obstacle avoidance.

6. Hand Gestures

Facing the front camera of the drone, you can command the drone to take pictures or shoot videos through gestures:

1. This function requires adequate light. Lowlight areas may prevent detection. 2. Gestures must last longer than 3 seconds.

7. Return-to-Home (RTH)

The Return to Home (RTH) function brings the aircraft back to the initial point of take-off. This function is only available in GPS mode. There are 3 types of RTH: Smart RTH, RTH due to low battery, and RTH due to a failed connection.

Smart Return To Home

Press the Return Home button on your transmitter or select this feature from your smartphone. The transmitter will beep. The aircraft will return to the original point of take-off. Press the button again to halt the RTH procedure or use the left and right joysticks to force the aircraft to land elsewhere.

Low Battery Return to Home

Low Battery RTH is triggered when the flight battery level is low. The aircraft ascends or descends automatically to a height of 20 meters, then you can use the joysticks to ensure a safe landing. The aircraft returns to the take-off point if the current battery level can only support the aircraft long enough to descend.

Fail Connection RETURN-TO-HOME (RTH)

The aircraft will enter "Return to Home Mode" if the signal to the transmitter is lost. It will return to the point of take-off. The aircraft may link to the remote control automatically during RTH. If successful, you can regain control.

WARNING: If the drone's altitude is below 20 meters, it will ascend to 20 meters then return. If higher, it returns directly. This drone is NOT equipped with obstacle avoidance; fly in an open area. RTH can only be activated in GPS mode.

8. Camera Functions

Take Photo: Click the photo button on the remote control or select the photo icon on the app.

Take Video: Click the video button on the remote control or select the video icon on the app to start recording. Click again to save the video. DO NOT take photos while recording.

SD Card: Memory cards (Micro SD, Class10/U1 or later, 32GB-128GB) can be installed in the drone or remote control. It is recommended to insert only one memory card into the drone. Photos and videos are saved to the SD card. The card can be read by inserting it into a computer. Images can also be viewed in the app.

Image transmission is jammed, easily interrupted, or disconnected. Obstructions, signal interference, antenna angle. Adjust antenna, change flight area (avoid high buildings/signal towers), update firmware.
The aircraft hovers unsteadily. Flight area interference, calibration issues, strong winds, deformed parts. Change flight area, conduct compass and horizontal calibration, check for wind, inspect parts.
GPS accuracy is not accurate or cannot pass GPS accuracy test. Poor GPS signal environment. Go to an open outdoor area, walk around the aircraft, try a different mobile device, do not test under high buildings.
The battery cannot be charged. Connection issue. Unplug and replug charger, remove and reinsert battery.
Short flight time. Battery condition, charging/discharging habits, temperature. Follow recommended battery care: avoid overcharging/discharging, store at moderate temperatures.
Unclear shooting. Camera protective film, lighting, settings. Remove protective film, shoot in well-lit environments, adjust camera settings in the app.
The camera is misty. Moisture/fog. Store the aircraft in a dry place.
Pictures or videos taken are lost. Recording not ended properly. Ensure recording operations are properly ended to prevent data loss.

Common Problems and Solutions

Conduct aircraft compass calibration and horizontal calibration. Judge whether strong winds are affecting flight. Judge whether the fan blades or the arms are deformed.
The GPS accuracy of the aircraft is not accurate or cannot pass the GPS accuracy test. Poor GPS signal environment. Go to an open area outdoors where GPS signal is available. Walk around the aircraft at close range. Replace the mobile device. Do not test it under high buildings.
The battery cannot be charged. Connection issue. Unplug the charger and plug it back into an outlet or remove the battery and insert it again.
Short flight time. Battery condition, charging/discharging habits, temperature. Short flight times are likely caused by the battery, and can be caused by overcharging or discharging the battery. Extremely high or low temperatures can also affect the batteries performance. It's recommended that the battery continuously holds a charge and doesn't completely discharge on a regular basis, this will improve battery life.
Unclear shooting. Camera protective film, lighting, settings. Check whether the camera's protective film is removed or not. Ensure the video is shot in a well-lit environment. Set shooting parameters from the camera settings via the app.
The camera is misty. Moisture/fog. Wet weather causes fog on the camera. Replace the storage place of the aircraft.
Pictures or videos taken are lost. Recording not ended properly. When recording a video, you must end the recording operation. Otherwise, the video may be damaged or lost.
