General Warnings ⚠️
CHOKING HAZARD: This product contains small parts that could be swallowed by children. This poses a choking hazard.
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK: This device contains electronic components that operate via a power source (batteries). Only use the device as described in the manual, otherwise you run the risk of an electric shock.
RISK OF FIRE/EXPLOSION: Do not expose the device to high temperatures. Use only the recommended batteries. Do not short-circuit the device or batteries, or throw them into a fire. Excessive heat or improper handling could trigger a short-circuit, a fire or an explosion.
RISK OF CHEMICAL BURN: Make sure you insert the batteries correctly. Empty or damaged batteries could cause burns if they come into contact with the skin. If necessary, wear adequate gloves for protection.
Leaking battery acid can lead to chemical burns. Avoid contact of battery acid with skin, eyes and mucous membranes. In the event of contact, rinse the affected region immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention.
Battery Handling:
- Use only the recommended batteries. Always replace weak or empty batteries with a new, complete set of batteries at full capacity. Do not use batteries from different brands, types or with different capacities.
- Remove the batteries from the unit if it is not to be used for a long period of time, or if the batteries are empty!
- Never recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries. This could lead to explosion during the charging process.
- Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
- Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the toy before being charged.
- The terminals must not be short-circuited.
- Do not disassemble the device. In the event of a defect, please contact your dealer.
Safety Note: Tools with sharp edges are often used when working with this device. Store this device and all tools and accessories in a location out of the reach of children to prevent injury.
Keep instructions and packaging as they contain important information.

1. What is a Microscope?
A microscope contains two lens systems: the eyepiece and the objective. For simplicity, we present these systems as one lens each. In reality, however, the eyepiece (1) and the objectives in the turret (3) are made up of multiple lenses.
The lower lens (objective) produces a magnified image of the prepared specimen. This image, which you cannot see directly, is magnified once more by the second lens (eyepiece, 1), which you then view as the 'microscope picture'.
2. Assembly and Location
Before you start, choose an ideal location for using your microscope. It's important that you choose a spot with enough light for normal observation. Furthermore, it is recommended that you place the microscope on a stable surface, because a shaky surface will not lead to satisfactory results.
3. Normal Observation
Place the microscope in a bright location (near a window or desk lamp). Turn the focus knob (2) to the upper stop and set the objective turret (3) to the lowest magnification.
Turn on the light using the switch on the microscope base. Place a prepared slide under the clips on the stage (4), directly under the objective. Look through the eyepiece (1) to see the magnified specimen. The image may initially be slightly fuzzy.
Adjust the image sharpness by slowly turning the focus knob (2). You can now select a higher magnification by turning the objective turret and selecting a different objective.
When changing magnification, you will need to readjust the focus. Higher magnification requires more light for good illumination.
The wheel with pinhole apertures (9) below the microscope stage (4) helps in viewing very bright or clear-sighted preparations. Turn the wheel (9) until the best contrast is achieved.

4. Observation (Electronic Light Source)
For observation with the electronic light source (6), insert 3 AA batteries (1.5 V) into the battery compartment (8) on the base of the microscope (7). The battery compartment is opened using a Phillips screwdriver.
Insert the batteries with the correct polarity (+/- indication). Attach the battery cover, ensuring it fits perfectly, and then tighten the screw.
The light turns on when you use the switch on the microscope base. You can now observe as described in the previous section.
TIP: The higher the magnification, the more light is required for good illumination. Always start your experiments with low magnification.

5. Condition and Prepare Viewed Objects
This is a transmitted light microscope, suitable for observing transparent specimens. Light passes through the specimen on the stage, is magnified by the objective and eyepiece lenses, and reaches your eye (transmitted light principle).
Many small aquatic organisms, plant parts, and animal components are naturally transparent. Others require pretreatment to become transparent, such as by soaking in suitable media or by cutting very thin slices (manual cutting or using a microtome) before examination.
