Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any damage. Ensure all listed items are present.
2. Tumbler Base Placement
Place the tumbler base on a stable, flat, and level surface. Ensure it is away from direct sunlight and heat sources. The KomeStone K1 features a quiet brushless motor, making it suitable for various indoor locations, though a garage or utility room is often preferred due to the nature of rock tumbling.

The KomeStone K1 features an LCD screen, 9-day timer, and 3-speed controls for precise tumbling.
Tumbling Cycles Overview
Rock tumbling is a multi-stage process, typically involving 4 steps with different grits to achieve a smooth, polished finish. Each stage requires specific grit and tumbling time.
Stage 1: Coarse Grind (60 Grit)

- 2. Add 1 packet of Step 1 Coarse Grit (60 grit).
- 3. Add water until it just covers the top of the rocks.
- 4. Securely close the barrel lid. Ensure the black knob is tightened firmly to prevent leaks.
- 5. Place the barrel on the tumbler base. Gently push the barrel towards the direction of the belt to ensure it's close to the edge of the machine, avoiding powder production during tumbling.
- 6. Set the timer for 7-10 days and the speed to 1 (slowest for initial grind).
- 7. Press the 'On/Off' button to start.
Stage 2: Medium Grind (150 Grit)

Stage 3: Pre-Polish (600 Grit)

- 4. Add water to just cover the rocks.
- 5. Securely close the barrel and place it on the tumbler base.
- 6. Set the timer for 6-8 days and the speed to 1 (slowest speed for finest results). This cycle starts to polish the rocks.
- 7. Press 'On/Off' to start.
Stage 4: Final Polish (1200 Grit)

- 6. Set the timer for 5-7 days and the speed to 1.
- 7. Press 'On/Off' to start.
Digital Timer & Speed Control
Use the '+' and '-' buttons next to 'DAYS' to adjust the tumbling duration (up to 9 days). Use the '+' and '-' buttons next to 'SPEED' to select one of the three available speeds. Speed 1 is recommended for all polishing stages for best results. The 'On/Off' button starts and stops the tumbling process. The 'Pause/Resume' button allows you to temporarily halt and restart a cycle without losing your settings.

Cleaning the Barrel and Base

Rocks not polishing: Ensure you are using the correct grit for each stage and following the recommended tumbling times. Thoroughly clean rocks and barrel between stages to prevent contamination from coarser grits. Ensure the barrel is properly sealed and water levels are correct.
Black powdered residue: This can sometimes occur from the belt or barrel. It is generally normal, especially during initial uses. Wipe it away with a damp cloth. If excessive, ensure the belt is properly aligned and not rubbing excessively.
