Fitting

BEFORE FITTING
Avoid installing electrical fittings on wet plaster or paint.
For best results, the wall surface around the back box should be fully finished and in excellent condition. A 35mmor 47mm deep back box is recommended. 47mm boxes are available on our website.
Make sure that the back box is suitable for the electrical components, and that the mounting lugs are in the correct position for the fitting.
Isolate the power supply at the consumer unit circuit breaker. Check that the power is off. These products must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the latest building regulations.
Connect the wiring as shown in the diagrams overleaf for each type of installation. When finished, there should be no exposed wires. The connections should be secure and tight. Earth sheathing should be used on any exposed earth wire. The switch assembly should push into the back box without forcing or trapping any wires.
KEYSTONE MODULES

For four-gang keystone plates, clip the two-gang halves together. Assemble the keystone components in the chassis provided.
BACK BOXES

To install: screw the silver chassis into the back box until it’s flush with the wall, without a flange or lip. It’s important to get the level correct so that the front plate creates the correct tension with the wall when it’s fitted.

To remove: unscrew the front plate. If applicable, remove the paper template.

Finishing

TOGGLE SWITCHES
Use the toggle ring tool provided to tighten the metal retaining toggle ring.
IMMER SWITCHES

Pull the dimmer knob off and unscrew the ring by hand or gently with a screwdriver. When reassembling, align the flat edge of the dimmer stalk with the knob.
CLEAR PLATES

Paint the template or use it as a guide to cut out wallpaper.
Remove the plastic film before installing the plate on the wall.
PAINTABLE PLATES     Our paintable plates are finished in etch primer, so they’re ready to be painted right out of the box.
