Product Usage Instructions
1. Set up the Kestrel LiNK App:
Ensure a stable connection (Wi-Fi recommended) and follow
on-screen instructions for installation.
2. Enable continuous monitoring:
- Open the LiNK app and tap on Options.
- Go to App Preferences and set Device power saving to Off and
Continuous Monitor to On.
3. Configure your dashboard display:
- Access your synced devices by tapping on the Devices icon at
the bottom left. - Select Dashboard and use the edit button to customize
measurements displayed. - To view measurements in full screen, tap the Full Screen
Icon.
4. Send data to AmbientWeather.net for remote monitoring:
- In Kestrel LiNK, navigate to Devices and tap on Settings.
- Select Manage Device Data and toggle on to send data to
AmbientWeather.net.
5. Connect to AWN:
Keep the Kestrel LiNK App open and displaying the dashboard
screen for continuous data transmission to Ambient Weather
Network.

Q: How do I update the firmware?
A: Check for firmware updates by tapping on the Settings button
in the app and following the prompts to update if available.

2) Set up the Kestrel LiNK App (cont)
Once you connect your device, you might receive a prompt stating “Firmware update
available.”
Tap the “Settings” button on your device to check for new firmware.

1) Set up the Kestrel LiNK App
Download and install the app on your device. » Ensure your device is charged and has an active internet
connection (Wi-Fi may be preferred for downloading the app).
» Open the App Store.
» Search for”Kestrel LiNK”and install the app listing with the blue & white icon.
» Ensure that your Kestrel is powered on and Bluetooth is active. Open the app and navigate to the Devices tab. Locate your new device in the list and tap “Connect.” You may have to accept prompts to allow access to Bluetooth.
» If your device is not listed, refresh to find available Bluetooth pairing devices.
NOTE: It might take a couple of attempts to succesfully connect to your device.
3) Enable continuous monitoring
Tap on “Options” in the LiNK app.
Go to “App Preferences”
Device power saving should be “Off” and Continuous Monitor should be “On” as shown below.
4) Configure your dashboard display
Tap on the “Devices” icon at the bottom left of your screen to return to your Kestrel synced devices.
Then tap on “Dashboard”.
Use the “edit” button to select what measurements you want added and removed from the live dashboard.
Press the “Full Screen” Icon to display live measurements in full screen mode.
If connecting more than one Kestrel device, switch to the “Multi-device” dashboard.
Full Screen example. Full Screen can show
up to six screens at one time. To exit full screen mode,
press “Close” at the top of the screen.
5) Send data to AmbientWeather.net for remote monitoring
In Kestrel LiNK, go to your “Devices” and tap on “Settings”

Select “Manage Device Data”
Slide toggle on to send data to AmbientWeather.net. This will also show your MAC Address.
6) Connect to AWN
NOTE: For continuous data transmission to Ambient Weather Network, make sure the Kestrel LiNK App is open, not minimized, and showing the dashboard screen on the remote device.
» Using another internet-connected device such as a laptop or mobile phone, go to AmbientWeather.net.
» Tap the”Login”button. » Log in to an existing account or create a new account.
7) Connect to AWN (cont)
» Once you create or log in to your AWN account, select”Devices” on the top left and tap the + icon to add a new device.
» Enter the MAC Address displayed on the Kestrel LiNK app for the device you would like to use for remote viewing and tap “Next”.
8) Connect to AWN (cont)
» Enter a name for your Kestrel device.
» Enter your device location.
» The location will be displayed on the AWN map.
» Select your time zone.
» Check if you would like to make your device data viewable on the public map.
» Select”Create”to finish set up.
9) Connect to AWN (cont)
» Go to your dashboard to select which Kestrel device you would like to view from the dropdown.
» Set up complete!
NOTE: It may take up to five minutes for data to start reporting.
