6.3 Adjustment settings
The acceleration due to gravity varies at different locations
on earth. For exact weighing results, the scale must be
adjusted to the prevailing acceleration due to gravity at the
location where it is installed. The scale must have reached its
operating temperature before it can be adjusted.
Adjustment of the scale is required in the following cases:
■ Before initial commissioning, if the scale has not already
been adjusted to the installation location at the factory.
■ After every change of location.
■ After a significant change in environmental conditions (e.g.
temperature or humidity).
■ If the scale has been disconnected from the power supply.
To ensure accurate measurements, it is also recommended
that the scale is adjusted regularly.
NOTICE
Incorrect weighing results
− Avoid unstable environmental conditions
during adjustment (e.g. vibrations or air
draught).
− Ensure that the scale has reached its operating
temperature. ⮫ Chapter 18.1 ‘Technical
data’ on page 92
− Only carry out the adjusting procedure with
the standard weighing plate in place.
− During external adjusting, ensure that only the
adjustment weight is on the weighing plate
without any other load.
− Only handle adjustment weights with
tweezers, weight handles or gloves. Avoid
direct skin contact between your hands and
adjustment weights.
