Firmware Update Instruction
OTA updates via the KENWOOD DASH CAM MANAGER APP on a smartphone
- Open the KENWOOD DASH CAM MANAGER APP on your phone and navigate to the MKII DASHBOARD page. When your phone detects a new firmware version, “Updates Available” will be displayed beneath your device name, and a yellow dot will appear next to ABOUT page indicating the presence of new firmware.
- Go to the ABOUT page, and you’ll see the “Firmware Update” option showing “Update the latest firmware” accompanied by a yellow dot. Click on it and select the device you wish to update.
- After clicking, you’ll be directed to the FIRMWARE UPDATE page. Follow the on-screen instructions to download the latest Firmware and confirm the update.
- At this point, the phone will transmit the downloaded firmware to the device using the wireless link function.
- Once the transfer is complete, press “Update” on your phone, and the device will begin the update process. Please do not disconnect the device’s power during this time. The update will take approximately 1-2 minutes.
- When the update starts, there will be a popup message as picture below.
DO NOT TURN OFF OR PRESS ANY BUTTON DURING THIS PERIOD, IT MAY CAUSE THE UPDATE FAILURE.
- It may take a while for updating. Once it finishes the update, Dash Cam will turn off the device automatically.
- Once it finishes the update, you can turn on the device and check the ABOUT page of the KENWOOD DASH CAM MANAGER APP. If the “Firmware Update” shows “Your firmware is up to date,” the update was successful.
