Request Regarding Security

When using this product, potential security breaches include leakage of private information, illegal operation by malicious third parties, and harm to or cessation of product operation. Implement sufficient security measures:

  • Set strong passwords and limit login access.
  • Change passwords periodically.
  • Panasonic Corporation and its affiliated companies will never ask for your password directly. Do not share your password with third parties claiming to represent Panasonic.
  • Always use the product on a network protected by a firewall.

What You Can Do

This projector supports network control via multiple methods:

  • WEB control (See page 9): Allows setting and adjusting the projector, displaying its status, and setting message transmission via a web browser.
  • PJLink (See page 17): Compatible with PJLink Class 1 standards, enabling projector setting and status querying from a computer.
  • Command control (Refer to "SERIAL TERMINAL" in the Basic Manual): Control the projector from a computer using serial terminal commands.

Note: To use WEB control, PJLink, or Command control, ensure [NETWORK CONTROL] is turned [ON] in the projector's NETWORK menu (See page 7).

Check Your Computer

Before connecting your computer to the projector, verify the following:

Necessary Environment for Computers to Be Connected

  • Ensure your computer has a wired LAN function. (Refer to "Glossary" for LAN definition on page 18).

Check 1: LAN Cable

  • Confirm the LAN cable is properly connected.
  • Use a LAN cable compatible with Category 5 or above.

Check 2: Wired LAN Settings

  • For computers with a built-in wired LAN function: Ensure your wired LAN is switched on.
  • For computers without a built-in wired LAN function: Verify your wired LAN adapter is properly recognized and switched on. Install the wired LAN adapter driver beforehand, following the manufacturer's instructions.

Check 3: For WebBrowser

  • A WebBrowser is required for WEB control.
  • Compatible WebBrowsers include Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0, and 8.0.

Caution: Avoid touching the LAN terminal or the metal part of the LAN cable to prevent static discharge, which could cause malfunction.

Connecting with Wired LAN

Connection can be established using a wired LAN. Consult your system administrator regarding network settings before making changes.

  1. Turn on the computer.
  2. Configure the network settings according to your system administrator. If the projector is set to default network settings (See page 6), the following settings can be used for the computer:
    • IP ADDRESS: 192.168.10.101
    • SUBNETMASK: 255.255.255.0
    • DEFAULT GATEWAY: 192.168.10.1
