4 Use Instruction
4.1 Charging

Connect the device with a 5V/1A charger (which should be purchased separately). The LED is solid on when the device is charging and turns to blink slowly when the charging is complete.

Note: If the battery is exhausted, the charging will take about 3 hours to full. It is normal that the device will heat up slightly during charging.

4.2 Power-On and Off

Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn on or off the device.

Note: The device comes with a SIM card and includes 10MB of free data for the first month. Upon activation, the device can automatically connect to the network. If the data is used up, you can recharge through the Jimi Global Connectivity Management Platform independently.

4.4 SIM Card Attachment

If you are using a non-company SIM card, please follow the instructions below.

Step 1: Prepare a proper SIM card.

The size of the card is as follows:

Step 2: Carefully unscrew the device to open the cover, gently insert the SIM card into the designated slot. Ensure that the SIM card is properly aligned and firmly seated.

Step 3: After inserting the SIM card, firmly screw the cover back into place to ensure waterproofing.

Note: The SIM card must be inserted correctly, has GPRS services activated, and is not in arrears. If the SIM is identified and requires a PIN, please disable the PIN request.

To avoid damaging the waterproof performance of the equipment, please do not disassemble it frequently.

4.5 Installation

Step 1: Please remove the transparent film from the back of the adhesive wall hook. Adhere the device to one adhesive wall hook securely.

Step 2: Attach the second adhesive wall hook to the desired location where the device needs to be installed.

Step 3: Securely fix the device in its intended position using the two adhesive wall hooks.

Note: When adhering, please ensure the adhesive surface is clean, dust-free, and without water stains. Please pay attention to the top and bottom orientation of the adhesive wall hook when adhering.

4.6 Working Modes
  • MODE 1: Timing Mode

In this mode, the device always has its network services enabled and will upload location data at a fixed interval, which can be configured via the location service platform or mobile app specified by your dealer.

  • MODE 2: Intelligent Mode

In this mode, the device can automatically recognize current location conditions and activity status of the vehicle on which it is installed and intelligently choose a positioning system and an upload interval.

  • MODE 3: Power-saving Mode

The device will wake up at a certain configured interval to upload location data. After each upload is complete, the device will enter deep sleep and will not execute any remote query or set actions. When an alert is triggered, the device will automatically switch to intelligent mode for a few minutes.

4.7 Alert Functions
  • Low Battery Alert

The device will upload a low battery alert if it detects its battery strength to be lower than 20%.

  • Light Sensing Alert

When the device detects changes in ambient light, it can issue an alarm.

  • Temperature and Humidity Alert

When the temperature or humidity is higher or lower than a certain set temperature or humidity, the device will trigger an alarm. When the device exceeds a certain temperature or humidity range, it will also trigger an alarm.

  • Vibration Alert

If the device detects vibration during mode 2 operation, it will upload a vibration alarm.

4.8 Data Record Export Function

The device is capable of locally storing up to 20,000 entries of GPS, temperature, humidity, and alarm data, and can export the data to a computer using the data cable included in the package.

4.9 Bluetooth Configuration

Step 1: Download and install “JIMI IoT Lab” app through APP Store ( iOS 11 and above only)

Step 2: Make sure your phone Bluetooth is enabled. Open the application and click “Connect”

Step 3: Turn device on and charge to activate BLE, select your target device to connect.

Step 4: Choose “Command mode” to configure the device.

5 Precautions About Battery

Please use batteries and accessories specified by the manufacturer of the device; otherwise, the warranty will become void.

The manufacturer of the device shall bear no warranty liabilities for any damage resulted from the use of non-original accessories.

Do not soak the battery in water or expose it to fire. Do not bend or forcibly open the battery.

Do not disassemble the battery as the device may be damaged if the disassembly is done improperly by a non-professional.

6 Troubleshooting

When a problem arises, you can troubleshoot it by the following solution. If the problem persists, please don’t hesitate to contact your dealer or service provider.

Common Possible Causes Solutions
Poor signal The device is used in an area where radio waves cannot reach, such as near high-rise buildings or in a basement. Try it in a place where satellite signals can be well received.
No SIM. Insert a SIM.
Power-on failure The battery is exhausted. Charge the device.
Failed to access the network The SIM card may be attached improperly. Check the SIM.
The metal side of the SIM card is stained. Clean it with an eraser.
The SIM is invalid. Please contact your network service provider.
The device is out of GSM service areas. Try it in a service area.
The signal is extremely weak. Try it in an area with strong signals.
Failed to query a location The SIM is not activated with the GPRS service. Please contact your network service provider and activate the GPRS service.
The device keeps replying with “No data found, please try again” Please contact your dealer.
