The JetWave Remote Controller features a touch screen, intercom button, gear down button, audio speaker, microphone, OK/Power button, gear up button, wristband, NFC magnetic charging port, trigger, and lanyard hole.

Usage Instructions

1. Connection & Pairing

Remote Control Pairing

  1. Press and hold the power button on the remote control for 3 seconds to power on. The remote will vibrate.
  2. The remote will display “Device Searching…”. Ensure the Board Battery is inserted and the Board’s lid is closed.
  3. Select “Search Pairing” on the remote.
  4. Wait for the remote to search for devices.
  5. Select your Board (e.g., “JWABCDE”) from the list.
  6. Once connected and paired, the remote will display “GO km/h” and other ride information.

Note: When the board is turned on for the first time, it will be automatically activated after the battery is installed (ensure a network connection). The remote control’s network must be normal for successful board activation.

Device Upgrade

JetWave devices support OTA upgrades. Regularly check for firmware upgrades for the best user experience. Refer to the “Advanced Operations” section for details.

Binding your device with the app allows access to session records, safety zones, and warranty activation.

  1. Ensure the remote control is successfully connected to the board.
  2. Swipe down on the remote control screen to access “Remote Controller Settings”.
  3. Click “About”.
  4. Click “Bind ID”. This will display a QR code.
  5. Open the JetWave App on your smartphone.
  6. On the Device page, tap the “+” icon.
  7. Scan the QR code displayed on the remote control with the app.
  8. After successful binding, the app will display device information, and the controller will show the bound ID.

Note: Additional warranty benefits beyond standard coverage are only available to the original owner after binding. See the JetWave website for complete warranty terms.

3. User Login (Optional)

Logging in allows you to view your ride sessions.

Login Method 1: Scan with APP

  1. Swipe up on the remote control screen to access the login screen.
  2. Select “Log In with APP Scan”.
  3. In the JetWave App, go to “Personal Center” and tap the scan icon.
  4. Scan the QR code displayed on the remote control.

Login Method 2: Account Login

  1. Swipe up on the remote control screen to access the login screen.
  2. Click “Account Login”.
  3. Enter your JetWave ID.
  4. Enter your password.
  5. Click “Submit” to log in.

Tip: Get your JetWave ID/password from the App’s Personal Center > Avatar > Personal Information. Riders can view sessions on devices they log into. Device owners can view all records for their devices.

4. Mode Selection & Gear Setting

Choose from three control modes: Beginner, Sport, and Wild.

  1. Swipe down on the remote control screen to access “Settings”.
  2. Select “Mode Settings”.
  3. Choose your desired mode (Beginner, Sport, or Wild) based on your proficiency level.
  4. Each mode has different gear settings. Press the “Gear Up Button” to increase the gear and the “Gear Down Button” to lower the gear.

5. Ending Your Ride

  1. Hold the power button for 3 seconds to end your ride and sync data to the app.
  2. To power off, continue holding the power button until the shutdown screen appears, then slide to confirm.
  3. For a force shutdown, hold the power button for 10 seconds.

Note: View your session log in the app (Personal Center > Ride History). Session records are only valid when logged in before riding.

Advanced Operations

Firmware Upgrade

  1. Power on the remote control and ensure it is connected to the board and online.
  2. Swipe down on the remote control screen to access “Settings”.
  3. Click “Firmware Upgrade”.
  4. Review the current versions. Click “Firmware Upgrade” to update all modules with a “NEW” status.
  5. For a system upgrade, swipe left and click “Upgrade Now”.
  6. Click “Check Version” to upgrade automatically. The remote will restart after the upgrade is complete.

Troubleshooting

  • Remote not powering on: Ensure the remote is charged. Connect it to the magnetic charging port.
  • Remote not pairing with board:
    • Ensure the board battery is inserted and the lid is closed.
    • Check if the remote control has a normal network connection.
    • Try restarting both the remote and the board.
    • Ensure both devices are within range.
  • App not binding device:
    • Ensure the remote is successfully connected to the board.
    • Check your app’s internet connection.
    • Ensure you are scanning the correct QR code (from “Bind ID” on the remote).
  • Cannot log in:
    • Verify your JetWave ID and password.
    • Check your remote’s network connection.
    • If using app scan, ensure the app is connected to the internet.
  • Session records not appearing in app: Ensure you were logged into your account on the remote control before starting your ride.

Device Upgrade
JetWave devices support OTA upgrades. We highly recommend regularly checking for firmware upgrades and updating to the latest version for a better user experience. Refer to P41 for details.

Initial Device Binding
For board owners, it is recommended to scan the QR code with the App to bind the device in order to enjoy more services, such as remotely accessing device session records, setting safety zones, and activating product warranty periods.
Open the QR code on the remote control when successfully connected to the board .

Login Method 1: Open the “Login” interface on the remote control and log in by scanning the code with the APP.

Ending Your Ride
Hold the power button for 3 seconds to end your ride and sync data to the app.

To power off, hold until shutdown screen appears, then slide to confirm. For force shutdown, hold for 10 seconds.

If the remote control loses connection or is replaced, you’ll need to pair it with the surfboard. Power on the board with battery installed.
