EarFun UA100 User Guide for Hi-Res Audio Playback
Version 1.0
This User Guide is applicable to Windows systems. No driver installation is required for other operating systems.
1. Install the Windows Driver
- Connect the UA100 to a Windows PC via a USB-C cable.
- Download the Windows driver program "EarFun USB Audio Drivers_setup_V1.0.exe" from the EarFun website: www.myearfun.com.
- Unzip and install the Drivers program.
Note: Successful installation of the driver program is required for the foobar2000 Player to play 96KHz and DSD High-Resolution Audio.
2. Install the foobar2000 Player and Related Plugins
- Download and install the foobar2000 Player Installer package file from: www.foobar2000.org/download. Ensure you select the correct program version (64-bit or 32-bit) based on your Windows system.
- Download and install the player plugin "ASIO Output" from: www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_out_asio. The "ASIO Output" plugin is necessary for High Resolution Audio playback.
- Download and install the decoder plugin "Super Audio CD Decoder (DSD)" from: https://sourceforge.net/projects/sacddecoder/files/foo_input_sacd/. The "foo_input_sacd" plugin is required for decoding and playing DSD Audio files in foobar2000.
3. Setup the Player
- After installing the foobar2000 Player and ASIO, DSD plugins, launch the Player.
- Navigate to File > Preferences > Playback > Output in the Player program.
- Select "ASIO: EarFun UA100" as the Device Output and click OK to complete. This enables lossless output of High Resolution Audio above 96KHz. (Note: The UA100 Drivers program and Player-related ASIO plugins must be properly set up for the device to appear in the Output Device list.)
- Navigate to File > Preferences > Tools > SACD in the Player program.
- Select "DSD" as the Output-Type and click "OK" to complete. You can then add DSD Audio files and play High Resolution music. Pay attention to the changes in the UA100 LED light for status indication.
Visual Aid Description: The foobar2000 interface shows preference settings. In the 'Playback > Output' section, the 'Device' dropdown menu is highlighted, indicating the selection of "ASIO: EarFun UA100". In the 'Tools > SACD' section, the 'Output-Type' is set to "DSD".
