• Is my Fillauer prosthetic foot waterproof?

  Many Fillauer lower extremity devices, such as the Wave Comfort and AllPro feet, are waterproof up to 1 meter. However, if submerged in saltwater or chlorinated water, they must be rinsed with fresh water and dried immediately to prevent deterioration.

• Can I adjust the alignment or stiffness of my Fillauer prosthetic myself?

  No. Any adjustments, alignment changes, or modifications should only be performed by or under the direct supervision of a qualified prosthetist.

• Are Fillauer electronic and myoelectric hands waterproof?

  While the TASKA hand is noted as waterproof and submersible for certain models, the Motion Control (MC) Hand is water-resistant, not waterproof, and should not be submerged beyond the quick disconnect wrist. Always refer to your specific model's user manual.

• How long is the warranty on a Fillauer prosthetic foot?

  Fillauer prosthetic warranty periods vary by specific model, but many prosthetic feet carry a 36-month warranty from the date of patient fitting. The cosmetic foot shell generally includes a 6-month warranty.

• How often should a clinician inspect my Fillauer prosthesis?

  Fillauer recommends that prosthetic feet and limbs be inspected by a clinician every 6 months to check for signs of abnormal wear and to ensure all attachment screws and elements are safely secured.
