WAVLINK AC1200 Dual Band Wi-Fi Extender/AP Quick Start Guide

Overview

This guide provides instructions for setting up your WAVLINK AC1200 Dual Band Wi-Fi Extender/AP.

Device Components:

WPS Button Functionality:

Hold the WPS button on your router for a few seconds, then press and hold the WPS button on this device for 8 seconds. The pairing process is established in 2 minutes.

Reset Button Functionality:

Press and hold for 6 seconds to reset the Extender to factory default settings.

LED Indicators

LED Status Color Description
Stable Pink The device is being activated.
Fast Flash Pink The internet is not connected.
Slow Flash Pink The internet is connected but not accessible.
Stable Red The connection is bad.
Stable Blue The connection is good.
Fast Flash Blue WPS is trying to establish connection to your router.
Slow Flash Blue WPS is trying to establish connection to the client.

Default Parameters

Social Media:

Option I: Setup via Wireless

  1. Plug the extender into a power outlet.
  2. Connection: Turn on Wi-Fi on your wireless devices (smartphone, tablet, laptop) and search for the product's SSID. Connect to it.
  3. Launch a browser on your laptop/PC or smartphone and enter wifi.wavlink.com or 192.168.10.1 in the address field.
  4. Select a language and set a new login password according to the rules.
  5. Mode Selection:
    • Repeater Mode: Select "Repeater mode", then choose an upstream router manually or automatically.
    • AP Mode: Select "AP mode". You can keep the old SSID or create new ones, then set up a password according to the rules.

Option II: Setup via WPS

  1. Press and hold the WPS or Pair button of your router. Refer to your router manufacturer for the correct duration.
  2. Press and hold the WPS button of the WAVLINK device for 6 seconds until the status LED turns solid blue, indicating the pairing process is complete.

Wi-Fi Password Management

For network security, it is recommended to create a new Wi-Fi password when using the extender mode. Refer to "Notes" for password setup guidelines.

Smart Connect:

In AP mode, the wireless signal originates from the device. In Repeater mode, the wireless signal is extended from the router.

Firmware Upgrade

To update the firmware:

  1. Download the latest firmware file from the Wavlink website.
  2. Extract the firmware file.
  3. Log in to wifi.wavlink.com or 192.168.10.1, then navigate to "Setup" and select "Upgrade Firmware".
  4. Click "Browse" to locate the firmware file.
  5. Click "Apply" and wait for the upgrade to complete. Do NOT power off the device during the upgrade.

What is firmware upgrade? Firmware updates fix bugs, introduce new features, and improve product performance. For device updates and security, please contact Wavlink support. Incorrect firmware upgrades may damage the device and void the warranty.
