1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the operation and maintenance of your Casio G-Shock GA-110 Series watch. Please read this manual carefully to ensure proper use and to maximize the lifespan of your timepiece. The GA-110 series is designed for durability and functionality, featuring advanced shock resistance and water resistance.

2. Key Features

  • Shock Resistant: Engineered to withstand impacts and vibrations.
  • Magnetic Resistant: Protects against magnetic fields that can affect timekeeping accuracy.
  • 200-Meter Water Resistance: Suitable for recreational scuba diving and various water activities.
  • Auto LED Light: Illuminates the display for easy reading in low-light conditions.
  • World Time: Displays the current time in 48 cities (29 time zones) plus Coordinated Universal Time.
  • Multiple Alarms: Includes 4 daily alarms and 1 snooze alarm.
  • Stopwatch: 1/1000-second stopwatch with measuring capacity up to 99:59'59.999''.
  • Countdown Timer: Measuring unit of 1 second, countdown range of 24 hours.

3. Setup and Initial Configuration

3.1. Button Functions

Your G-Shock GA-110 watch features four primary buttons and one light button. Familiarize yourself with their locations and functions:

  • ADJUST (Top Left): Used to enter and exit setting modes, and to confirm settings.
  • MODE (Bottom Left): Cycles through the watch's different modes (Timekeeping, Stopwatch, Countdown Timer, World Time, Alarm).
  • REVERSE (Top Right): Used to decrease values or move backward through settings.
  • FORWARD (Bottom Right): Used to increase values or move forward through settings.
  • LIGHT (Front Bottom): Activates the LED backlight.

3.2. Setting the Home City and Time

  1. In Timekeeping Mode, hold down the ADJUST button until the city code starts to flash. This indicates the setting mode.
  2. Use the REVERSE and FORWARD buttons to select your desired Home City code.
  3. Press the MODE button to cycle through other settings: DST (Daylight Saving Time), 12/24-hour format, Seconds, Hour, Minute, Year, Month, Day.
  4. Use REVERSE and FORWARD to change the flashing value.
  5. After setting all desired values, press the ADJUST button to exit the setting mode.

4. Operating Modes

Press the MODE button to navigate between the following modes:

4.1. Timekeeping Mode

This is the default mode, displaying the current time, day of the week, and date. The analog hands also show the current time.

4.2. Stopwatch Mode

The stopwatch measures elapsed time, split times, and two finishes. It has a 1/1000-second measuring unit.

  • Press MODE to enter Stopwatch Mode.
  • Press FORWARD to start/stop the stopwatch.
  • Press REVERSE to reset the stopwatch while it is stopped.
  • To record a split time, press REVERSE while the stopwatch is running. Press REVERSE again to release the split and continue timing.

4.3. Countdown Timer Mode

The countdown timer can be set for a period from 1 second to 24 hours. An alarm sounds when the countdown reaches zero.

  • Press MODE to enter Countdown Timer Mode.
  • Hold ADJUST to enter setting mode. The hour setting will flash.
  • Use REVERSE and FORWARD to set the desired countdown time. Press MODE to move between hours, minutes, and seconds.
  • Press ADJUST to exit setting mode.
  • Press FORWARD to start/stop the countdown.

4.4. World Time Mode

View the current time in 29 time zones (48 cities) around the world.

  • Press MODE to enter World Time Mode.
  • Use FORWARD to scroll through the city codes.
  • To swap your Home City time with the World Time City time, hold down ADJUST and FORWARD simultaneously.

4.5. Alarm Mode

Set up to four one-time alarms and one snooze alarm.

  • Press MODE to enter Alarm Mode.
  • Use FORWARD to cycle through the alarms (AL1, AL2, AL3, AL4, SNZ, SIG).
  • To set an alarm, select the desired alarm (e.g., AL1) and hold ADJUST until the hour setting flashes.
  • Use REVERSE and FORWARD to set the hour and minute. Press MODE to switch between hour and minute.
  • Press ADJUST to exit setting mode.
  • To turn an alarm on/off, select the alarm and press FORWARD.
  • SNZ is the snooze alarm, which sounds every five minutes until stopped. SIG is the hourly time signal.

5. Maintenance and Care

Proper care will ensure the longevity and performance of your G-Shock watch.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the watch with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a soft cloth dampened with water and a mild neutral detergent.
  • Water Resistance: While water resistant, avoid operating buttons underwater. After exposure to saltwater, rinse the watch with fresh water and dry thoroughly.
  • Temperature: Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures (below -10°C or above 60°C) or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
  • Chemicals: Keep the watch away from gasoline, cleaning solvents, aerosols, adhesives, paints, etc., as they can damage the resin case and band.
  • Battery Replacement: The watch uses a CR1220 battery. Battery life is approximately 2 years. It is recommended to have the battery replaced by an authorized Casio service center to ensure water resistance is maintained.

6. Troubleshooting
