Product Usage Instructions

  • Take photos and scan the patient using the scanner.
  • Select Invisalign Outcome Simulator Pro to run in the background.
  • Two simulations can run in parallel – Send and View or Send for Viewer mode.
  • Configure default view settings for simulations.
  • Choose treatment options: Comprehensive, Go, Go+.
  • Select arch to treat: upper, lower, or both.
  • Determine attachment placement preferences.
  • Specify Dental midline maintenance or improvement.
  • Set Space preferences.
  • Save preferences as default or load predefined settings.
  • Recalculate to update simulation based on preferences.

Introduction

Invisalign® Outcome Simulator Pro with Multiple Treatment Simulations

  • Invisalign Outcome Simulator Pro is a comprehensive chairside solution providing doctors with visualization tools designed to increase treatment acceptance.
  • Diversify your treatment options with side-by-side ortho-only and ortho-restorative in-face simulations.
  • Use simulation preferences and tooth chart to personalize the treatment simulation outcome.
  • Invisalign Outcome Simulator Pro is available on iTero Lumina and iTero Element Plus Series scanners, as well as on the MyiTero portal.

The following icon highlights the new features added to Invisalign Outcome Simulator Pro.

Quick Start Guide

Take extraoral photos

  • Capture the wide smile photo using the Invisalign® Practice App.
  • The photo is required to run the in-face visualization.

Scan the patient

  • Scan the lower jaw, upper jaw, and bite.

Send the scan

  • Ensure that the Initiate Invisalign Outcome Simulator Pro check box is checked off and tap Send and View to open the Align Oral Health Suite. Clicking Send will open the Viewer mode.

Open Invisalign Outcome Simulator Pro

  • Once the green checkmark is displayed, tap/click the Invisalign Outcome Simulator Pro button.

Start with the Invisalign® Practice App (IPA)

Setting up patients or prospects

  • Login to Invisalign® Practice App (IPA), tap Add Patient to create an Invisalign® patient or Prospect record.

Take photos

  • Enter your patient’s/prospect’s record and capture the wide smile photo.

On the scanner

Scan the patient

  • On the scanner, tap New Scan,
  • Fill the Rx
  • Note: The Invisalign Outcome Simulation Pro is available for Invisalign | Vivera or Study Model/iRecord procedures.
  • Scan the patient.
  • The Invisalign Outcome Simulator Pro button can be found on the Patients or Orders page, Viewer or Align Oral Health Suite.

Open the Invisalign Outcome Simulator Pro

Send the scan

  • Tap the Envelope icon.
  • The checkbox Initiate Invisalign
  • Outcome Simulator Pro is selected by default, to allow the simulation to run in the background while the scanner is available for work.

Two simulations will run in parallel:

  • Invisalign® simulation (Ortho only).
  • Invisalign® Smile Architect (Ortho-Restorative).

When one of them is completed, you will be able to enter the application.
Tap Send and View to open the Align Oral Health Suite or Send to open the Viewer.

Open the Invisalign Outcome Simulator Pro

  • The simulation takes few minutes to process.

  • Its progress is indicated by the Invisalign Outcome Simulator Pro button.

  • During that time, all other iTero digital tools can be used.
  • When the green check mark appears, tap on the Invisalign Outcome Simulator Pro button.
  • Tap Add this photo to confirm that the photo matches the patient.
  • Tap Skip to exclude photos from the simulation and use only 3D model view.
  • Note – Invisalign Smile Architect simulation requires a photo and skipping this step will not run the simulation.
  • You can choose a photo later to re-initiate the simulation, if needed.

  • The Set Up Initial View window will appear the first time a user opens Invisalign Outcome Simulator Pro.
  • This screen allows the users to configure their default view settings when they will launch Invisalign Outcome Simulator Pro from any available screen.
  • These settings are specific to each doctor.

Default View Settings:

  • Default Simulation: Choose between Invisalign,
  • Smile Architect, or a comparison of both.Default Mode: Select one of the following:
  • In-Face Visualization – Displays the simulation over the patient’s photo (if available).
  • 3D Model – Shows a 3D model without facial photos.
  • This setup screen is presented upon the first use of Invisalign Outcome Simulator Pro. The default view settings can be modified later through the Options menu.
  • Tap the Smile button to toggle between the in-face visualization and the 3D model

  • Click the view mode buttons to view:
  • Before and after Invisalign treatment simulation (ortho only).
  • Before and after Invisalign® Smile Architect treatment simulation (ortho-restorative).
  • Compare between Invisalign and Invisalign smile architect treatment simulations.

Adjust simulation preferences

Modify the simulation according to clinical preferences

  • The simulation preferences allow you to customize simulations based on clinical needs and conditions, offering different options for each type of simulation.
  • To adjust the simulation preferences, tap the Preferences button near each simulation type.
  • After modifying any preference, you’ll need to recalculate the simulation, which may take a few minutes.

Invisalign treatment simulation preferences

  1. Choose the treatment option to see what the simulation would look like leveraging a different Invisalign product. Current products supported are: Comprehensive, Go and Go+ (depends on what available in your IDS account).itero-Invisalign-Practice-App-FIG-13

  7. Clicking on any tooth will allow you to mark it as unmovable or extracted.
    * For Go and Go plus extraction, there is a limitation to one lower incisor.itero-Invisalign-Practice-App-FIG-19

    • Gray: indicates unmovable
    • Red X: indicates extractions

Note: Missing teeth aren’t clickable since no actions can be performed on them, though the algorithm may still try to place a replacement if possible.

Invisalign® Smile Architect treatment simulation preferences

  1. Choose the treatment option to see what the simulation would look like leveraging a different Invisalign product. Current products supported are: Comprehensive, Go and Go+ (depends on what available in your IDS account).itero-Invisalign-Practice-App-FIG-21

  3. Clicking on a tooth in the tooth chart will open up a menu with available options for the simulation:itero-Invisalign-Practice-App-FIG-23
    • Regular: Mark tooth as regular tooth (Color indication: white)
    • Restore: Mark tooth for restoration (Color indication: Blue)
    • Do not move: Mark tooth as unmovable (Color indication: Grey)
    • Restore (Do not move): Place a restoration without tooth movement (Color indication: Grey with blue outline)
    • Extract: Mark tooth to be extracted (Color indication: Red with X)
    • Areas on tooth chart with dotted line and no tooth indicates missing teeth that the algorithm detected

Adjust simulation preferences – Modify tooth numbering system

Tooth numbering system

  • To change the tooth numbering system, click on any number on the tooth chart and switch it to your preferred system: FDI, Palmer, or Universal.
  • This allows for easier work according to your clinical preferences.

Manage photos

These options allow you to update, change and remove photos

Preferences

  • Tap the Options button to manage the patient/prospect photo.

Update photo (to update patients’ photo)

  • Take a new photo via Invisalign® Practice App and upload it.
  • Select Update photo from the pop-up menu.
  • Click the Refresh button until you see the new photo you took. The new photo will appear on the right side of the screen.
  • Click Update photo if you approve.
  • In-Face Visualization for Invisalign and Invisalign Smile Architect simulations will be calculated.

Change photo (Change patient)

  • Select Change patient from the pop-up menu.
  • Select the patient from the Patient list. You can use the search patient field to search for your patient.
  • Once completed, click the Add this photo button.
  • The in-face smile view is updated with the patient’s photo you selected.

Remove photo (to remove photo and in-face visualization from the simulation)

  • Select Remove photo from the pop-up menu.
  • Click the Remove button to remove the photo.

Share the simulation

Share both the potential smile and the 3D model by using the screenshot tool and the iTero Scan Report

  • Tap the screenshot tool when viewing the image to be shared.
  • Ignore the image thumbnail to save the image as is.

  • Tap Keep Annotations.

Share the screenshot

  • To access and share the screenshot, go to the MyiTero portal.
  • Find the relevant scan date and click iTero Scan Report.

Share Report

  • Click Share Report, download the Scan Report and share it.
