Product Usage Instructions
- Installation
- Download the IDM Configuration Software from the IME website.
- Run the installation file (.exe).
- Choose the language and click OK.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
- Modification of Software’s Language
- In the software’s home page, click on “Software configuration”.
- Choose the desired language.
- Click on Save to confirm the language change.
- Search Devices
- In the software’s home page:
- Click on “Search Device”.
- The scan page is divided into two sections:
- A. Channel Settings
- B. Device Settings

- Choose the correct communication protocol (Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, M-bus).
- Choose the correct COM port.

Implementation

Installation
- Run the file
The installation procedure starts
- Choose the proper language
- Click “OK”

Modification of the software’s language
- Procedure for changing language (if necessary)

- Choose the required language
- Click “Save” to confirm.
Search Devices
In the software’s home page
- Click “Search Device”
- The scan page is divided to 2 sections:

- Choose the correct Communication Protocols. 3 Software supports :
- Modbus RTU
- Modbus TCP
- M- bus
- Choose the correct COM port.

- Choose the All Combinations.
- Search in a specific range of addresses
- Choose All addresses.
- Modbus TCP
- First of all, it is needed a TCP gateway interface.
- For example:
- SXIIP: gateway Ethernet/RS485 (1:N)
- In this case, you need to connect your PC to the same network of your Modbus TCP gateway. (Ethernet)

- Modbus TCP
- Enter the IP Address of your gateway.
- Search in a specific range of addresses or
- Choose All addresses
- M-bus
- First of all, you need a M-Bus Converter
- Choose the M-Bus Protocol.
- Choose the correct COM port.

- Verify and choose the Correct Baud rate and Parity, otherwise
- Click on Search button
- Note: You can search the Primary Addresses o the Secondary Addresses.
- Click Secondary Addressing for check.
- Scan

- By clicking on the Search button, a page with the latest Firmware updates will be shoewn:
MID devices are not updatable
Updates available
- Click Update FW
- Click “Continue” to go to the edit page of the configuration read.
Device firmware update
As soon as the search devices page appears, you can see if updated firmware is available for each module.
- You can check the small window on top to update all the available firmware updates
- Otherwise you can uncheck it and choose just the modules you would like to update
- Finally, click on the update FW button (it might take some time to update, please wait until the software finishes the process)
Device Configuration
Configuration of devices on your system In the Home page
- Click “Edit Configuration online”
- The Configuration Page will be appeared.

- Configuration Settings for the selected device on the section A

- Select a Device
- Rename the Device
- Click “Connection” and choose the correct connection
- Click “External input” and choose the correct input
- Click for assign the other control parameter.

- Click “Advanced” and a set additional parameters are shown
- Click for assign the other control parameters
- Click “Save” to confirm

Off-line operation
Import a configuration In the Software’s home page
- Click “Import Configuration”
- System configuration appears
