4. Ntuziaka ọrụ
The MS116GS switch operates automatically once connected. It supports two special modes: Isolation Mode and Loop Prevention Mode, which can be activated via physical switches on the device.

Foto 4.1: Close-up of the mode switches for Isolation and Loop Prevention, located on the right side of the switch.
4.1 Isolation Mode
Isolation Mode allows for one-click client traffic separation. When enabled, ports 1-14 are isolated from each other, preventing them from communicating directly. All isolated ports can still communicate with ports 15-16 (uplink ports). This mode enhances security and performance by preventing broadcast storms and improving LAN security.
- To enable Isolation Mode: Set the "Isolation" switch to the "On" position.
- To disable Isolation Mode: Set the "Isolation" switch to the "Off" position (Default Mode).
4.2 Loop Prevention Mode
Loop Prevention Mode automatically detects and blocks network loops. A network loop occurs when there are multiple paths between two network devices, which can cause broadcast storms and network instability. When a loop is detected, the switch will block the corresponding port to prevent network disruption.
- To enable Loop Prevention Mode: Set the "Loop Prevention" switch to the "On" position.
- To disable Loop Prevention Mode: Set the "Loop Prevention" switch to the "Off" position (Default Mode).
5. Nlekọta
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your MS116GS switch.
- Nhicha: Regularly clean the exterior of the switch with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
- Igwe ikuku: Ensure that the ventilation holes on the sides of the switch are not obstructed. Proper airflow is crucial for heat dissipation.
- Ịnye ọkụ: Use only the power adapter provided with the switch. Using an incorrect power adapter may damage the device.
- gburugburu: Operate the switch within its specified temperature and humidity ranges. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
