Installation and Clearance Requirements

Select a location on a level, sturdy floor capable of supporting a fully loaded appliance. Avoid installation in direct sunlight or adjacent to ranges, dishwashers, or other heat sources. Do not operate the unit in ambient room temperatures below 55°F (13°C) or above 110°F (43°C), as extreme temperatures impair compressor cooling efficiency.

  • Top clearance: 3/8 inch (9.5 mm)

  • Side clearance: 3/8 inch (9.5 mm)

  • Rear clearance: 1 inch (25.4 mm) for air circulation, plumbing, and power connections

  • Power supply: Dedicated 120 V AC, 60 Hz outlet on a minimum 15 Amp branch circuit (do not use extension cords or adapter plugs)

Always move the refrigerator from the cabinet sides. Never use the door handles to pull, lift, or shift the appliance. Do not run retaining straps across handle bars.

Water Line Connection

The ice maker and internal dispenser require connection to a household cold water line with supply pressure between 30 and 100 psi. Use 1/4-inch (6 mm) outer diameter copper tubing or braided flexible stainless steel tubing. Do not use 1/4-inch plastic tubing, and do not use self-piercing shutoff valves.

  1. Disconnect the refrigerator power cord from the electrical wall outlet.

  2. Run the 1/4-inch water line to the back of the refrigerator, allowing roughly 7 feet (2.1 meters) of slack coiled behind the unit for future servicing.

  3. Place the end of the supply line into a container or sink, open the household shutoff valve, and flush water until it flows completely clear, then close the valve.

  4. Remove and discard the plastic protective cap from the refrigerator water valve inlet.

  5. For copper lines, slide the compression nut and ferrule onto the tubing, push the tubing into the valve inlet until seated (about 1/4 inch), and finger-tighten the nut; tighten an additional half turn using an adjustable wrench without overtightening.

  6. For braided stainless steel lines, thread the pre-assembled nut onto the valve inlet, finger-tighten, and tighten one half turn with a wrench.

  7. Secure the water line to the rear panel with the provided steel clamp and screw, arranging tubing loops so they do not vibrate against appliance surfaces.

  8. Open the household water shutoff valve and inspect all connections thoroughly for leaks.

Leveling and Door Alignment

Proper leveling ensures smooth auto-closing of the doors and airtight gasket sealing around all cabinet perimeters. The front of the cabinet should be slightly higher than the rear.

  1. Pull open the bottom freezer drawer slightly to access the adjustable anti-tip legs located at the bottom front corners.

  2. Lower both anti-tip legs using pliers until they make solid contact with the floor surface.

  3. To raise the front of the cabinet, rotate the leg clockwise when viewed from above; to lower the front, rotate counter-clockwise.

  4. Verify that all four corners rest firmly on the floor and that both French doors open and close freely without binding.

  5. If the French doors are misaligned vertically, open the freezer drawer to expose the lower door hinge shaft.

  6. Insert the included 6 mm Allen wrench into the lower hinge shaft: rotate clockwise (viewed from below) to raise the door, or counter-clockwise to lower it.

Initial Start-Up and Water Priming

  1. Remove all interior shipping tape, foam, and protective packing materials before turning on the power.

  2. Plug the power cord into a grounded 120 V electrical outlet.

  3. Allow the empty refrigerator to run undisturbed for at least 4 to 24 hours to stabilize at default temperatures (37°F / 3°C refrigerator and 0°F / -18°C freezer) before loading groceries.

  4. Prime the water dispenser system: open the left French door and hold a sturdy glass against the internal dispenser paddle for approximately 4 minutes to expel trapped air.

  5. Dispense and discard a minimum of 1 full gallon (3.6 liters) of water to flush carbon fines and residues from the new PurePour water filter.

  6. Enable the ice maker via the digital control panel or lower the ice maker switch to ON once water connections and priming are verified.

Control Panel and Temperature Settings

The electronic control panel is integrated into the side edge of the left French door. It displays operating temperatures, active alerts, filter reminders, and operational modes.

Care and Filter Maintenance

Routine maintenance preserves energy efficiency and appliance hygiene. Replace genuine filtration cartridges regularly to maintain water clarity and odor-free storage.

  • Water Filter Replacement: Replace the PurePour (PWF-1 / model HDFPPWFU01) cartridge every 6 months or when the control panel prompts 'Replace'. Push the cartridge to eject and slide the new cartridge firmly until it clicks.

  • Air Filter Replacement: Replace the PureAir AF-2 active carbon filter cartridge in the rear air tower every 6 months.

  • Produce Keeper Replacement: Replace the ethylene absorber sachet inside the crisper housing every 6 months.

  • Cabinet & Door Cleaning: Clean smudge-proof stainless steel doors using a clean, soft microfiber cloth dampened with mild soapy water or stainless cleaner. Do not use abrasive pads, bleach, or ammonia.

Reset Procedures

  1. Water Filter Indicator Reset: After inserting a new water filter cartridge, press and hold the 'WATER FILTER' button on the door control panel for 3 seconds until the status indicator switches from red back to green/good.

  2. Air Filter Indicator Reset: After replacing the PureAir filter in the air tower, press and hold the 'AIR FILTERS' button on the control panel for 3 seconds to reset the replacement cycle timer.

  3. Alert Acknowledgement: When an alert chime sounds or an alert icon illuminates (such as Door Open, High Temp, or Power Outage), press the 'CLEAR ALERTS' button to silence the audible alarm and dismiss the alert.

  4. System Power Cycle (Hard Reset): If the control interface freezes or displays an unresolved communication error, unplug the refrigerator from the wall outlet or trip the circuit breaker for 5 to 10 minutes, then restore power.

Troubleshooting

Issue

Possible Cause

Recommended Solution

Compressor runs continuously

Variable-speed compressor design or post-defrost cooling

Normal operation; the high-efficiency variable-speed compressor runs nearly 100% of the time at modulated speeds to maintain precise temperatures.

Unfamiliar operating sounds

High-efficiency circulation fans, refrigerant flow, or valve pulsing

Normal operational sounds of modern high-efficiency cooling components.

Compartment too warm or cold

Recent setting change or blocked air vents

Ensure food containers do not block air vents. Adjust temperature by 1–2 degrees and allow 24 hours to stabilize.

Water dispenser tastes odd or discolored

Air or carbon residue in newly installed filter

Purge air by dispensing continuously for roughly 4 minutes, discarding at least 1 full gallon (3.6 L) of water.

Ice maker not producing ice

Water shutoff valve closed or ice maker switched off

Verify the cold water supply valve is open, supply tubing is kink-free, and the ice maker is turned ON on the control panel.

High Temp or Power Outage alert displayed

Recent power loss or door left open

Check that doors seal firmly; press 'CLEAR ALERTS' on the panel to acknowledge and dismiss the indicator.
