This document provides operating instructions for the Hilti HDA-P/-PF/-PR M16 anchor system. It details the technical specifications and step-by-step installation procedures for professional construction applications.

Note for TE 70: For use with Hilti TE 70 hammer drill, minimum embedment depth (hmin) must be ≥ 300 mm (11.8"). Compatible drill bits and tools include TE-Y HDA-B 30 x 190, TE-Y HDA-ST 30-M16, TE 60-(04), and TE 70-(03)* / TE 70-(04)*.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Drilling the Hole

Drill a hole in the base material using a suitable Hilti hammer drill (e.g., TE 60, TE 70) and the specified drill bit (df = 24 mm). Ensure the hole is drilled perpendicular (90°) to the surface. The drill bit depth stop should be set to the required hole depth (hs).

Step 2: Cleaning the Hole

Thoroughly clean the drilled hole using a Hilti cleaning brush and blower. Remove all dust and debris from the hole to ensure proper anchor function.

Step 3: Inserting the Anchor

Insert the HDA-P/-PF/-PR M16 anchor into the cleaned hole. Ensure it is inserted straight and to the correct depth. Do not force the anchor.

Step 4: Setting the Anchor

Use a Hilti setting tool (e.g., TE-Y HDA-B 30 x 190, TE-Y HDA-ST 30-M16) to drive the anchor into the hole. The tool should be aligned correctly with the anchor.

Step 5: Initial Tightening

Apply initial torque to the anchor using a suitable wrench. This step helps seat the anchor correctly before final tightening.

Step 6: Checking Installation Depth and Flushness

Visually inspect the installed anchor. Ensure the anchor is set to the correct depth (hs) and is flush with the base material surface, as indicated by the markings on the anchor.

Step 7: Attaching Fixture

Place the fixture to be attached onto the installed anchor. Align the fixture's mounting holes with the anchor's thread.

Step 8: Final Tightening

Tighten the anchor nut using a calibrated torque wrench to the specified installation torque (Tinst = 120 Nm / 89 ft-lb). Ensure the correct wrench size (SW) is used.
