- Do not disassemble, modify or attempt to repair this product.
- If product needs cleaning, use only a soft dry cloth. Do not use any chemical agents like benzene or thinner.
- The packaging must be retained since it contains important information.
- Please retain this instruction manual for your future reference.
- The normal function of the product may be disturbed by strong electro-magnetic interference. If so, simply reset the product to resume normal operation by following the instruction manual (How to Connect). In case the function does not resume, please relocate to an area which does not have electro-magnetic interference to use the product.

Note:
- When playing on PlayStation®4 consoles, please use wired mode. The controller is not compatible with wireless mode on PS4® consoles.
- The Fighting Commander OCTA Pro comes with a USB-C™ to USB-C™ data cable included for PlayStation®5 consoles. However, PS4® consoles need a USB-C™ to USB-A data cable for wired play. When using the controller with PS4® consoles in wired mode, please use a USB-C™ to USB-A data cable such as HORI SPF-015U USB Charging Play Cable for PS5® consoles (sold separately).
Important
Before using this product, please read the instruction manuals for the software and console hardware to be involved in its use. Please check that your console is updated to the latest system software.
An internet connection is required to update PS5® consoles and PS4® consoles to the latest system software.
This user manual focuses on use with the console, but this product can also be used on a PC following the same instructions.
HORI has conducted wireless testing and verified this product with the PS5® CFI-1000, CFI-2000, and CFI-7000 series.
If there is an issue related to wireless connectivity, it is an issue with the HORI controller.
Please contact HORI customer support for assistance.
For the PlayStation®5 CFI-1000 series, we recommend inserting this product’s receiver into the front USB port of the PS5® console.

How to Connect
Set the toggle switches to the appropriate setting (see below).

When using wired mode
[1] This product comes equipped with a cable lock.
Following the instructions below, attach the included cable to the controller.
Note:
- You may not be able to use the cable lock function with cables other than the data cable that comes included with the controller.
① Pull the lock out.
② Attach the accompanying USB cable to the product and insert it until you hear the “click” sound.
[2] Connect the USB cable to your PS5® console, PS4® console, or PC.
Then, when you have turned your hardware on, press the (PS) button on the controller.
Note:
- Do not operate any buttons or switches while connecting the USB cable.
- The Fighting Commander OCTA Pro comes with a USB-C™ to USB-C™ data cable included for PS5® consoles. However, PlayStation®4 consoles need a USB-C™ to USB-A data cable for wired play. When using the controller with PS4® consoles in wired mode, please use a USB-C™ to USB-A data cable (sold separately).
When using wireless mode
[1] Connect the receiver to the PS5 console or PC.
Please follow the instructions below to avoid malfunction.
- Please note that if multiple units of this product are purchased, each controller can only be paired with the receiver it came with.
- Do not use this product with a USB hub or extension cable.
- Do not remove or insert the receiver while playing.
- Do not operate the controller during the following times.
– When connecting to your PS5® console, PS4® console or PC.
– When turning on your PS5® console, PS4® console or PC on.
– When waking your PS5® console, PS4® console or PC from rest mode.
[2] Turn your console on and press the (PS) Button.
When it is finished connecting, the profile LED will light up white.
If you experience difficulty connecting, press and hold the (PS) button and the (create) button together until the profile LED lights up white. 
Swappable D-Pads
Following the steps below, you can switch out the D-Pads to your preferred style.
[1] Grip the side of the D-Pad with your fingers or fingernails at the notch and pull upward.
[2] Align straight and push the D-Pad of your choice firmly into place.
-You’ll hear a click when the D-Pad is installed correctly.
How to Charge
You can charge this product with a USB-C™ cable by connecting it to this product and to a USB-C™ port on the PS5® console or PC.
Note:
- When charging the controller with PS4® consoles, please use a USB-C™ to USB-A data cable.

Return All Buttons to Default
Press the (PS) button in step ② to clear all the assignments. (Function LED will turn off.)
- Multiple functions cannot be assigned to a single button.
- A single function cannot be assigned to multiple buttons.
- If you do not perform step ② after ① , the Function LED will turn off after four seconds and assignment mode will automatically end.
- When the Function LED turns on, it indicates that a button is remapped and will stay until button function is reset to default.
- Controller settings are stored even if the PS5® console, PS4® console, or PC is turned off or the receiver is disconnected.
D-Pad Sensitivity Adjustment
The D-Pad has 7 levels of input sensitivity you can switch between.

- Return Analog Stick completely to the center each time you move it.
- If no buttons are pressed for more than 4 seconds during ① or the Left Analog Stick is not tilted up/down during ②, the Function LED will automatically turn off and the Directional Pad Sensitivity function will turn off.
Profile
You can set and switch between 4 profiles.
- Profiles can also be registered on the app.
- Hold Function button for 3 seconds
- You can switch between profiles by pressing the up or down Right Analog Stick Slider Pad.
The Profile LED will change based on Profile setting

Headphone/ Mic Jack
A headset or headphones can be connected by plugging the product in to the headphone / mic jack
Do not use high volume settings for an extended period of time.
Be sure to turn down the volume before connecting a headset / headphones.

Troubleshooting
If this product does not function as desired, please check the following:
① The product is not working
Please try the following methods.
- If the product does not respond when the buttons are pressed, it may be due to the low battery. Please fully charge the battery with the included USB cable and appropriate power source.
- If the buttons do not work immediately after connecting the controller, please press the (PS) Button and set the controller as the main controller for your profile.
② The product is unable to charge, does not respond even when fully charged, or responds on its own without inputting
Please try the following steps.
- Press the reset button on the back of the product with a thin stick or similar object (e.g. Paper clip).
Do not use a sharp needle.
Doing so may scratch or damage the product. - Reconnect. (check page 5-7)

③ Pressing the p (PS) button does not turn on the console
Pressing the (PS) button will not power on the console.
Please power on the console normally before use.
For PlayStation®5 console → Push the power button on the PlayStation®5 console or press the (PS) button on the DualSense® Wireless Controller that is paired to the console.
For PlayStation®4 console → Push the power button on the PlayStation®4 console or press the (PS) button on the DUALSHOCK®4 Wireless Controller that is paired to the console.
④ Controller is responsive on the Home Screen, but not during gameplay
On the console, the controller does not function if you sign in with a different account than the one you selected when starting the software.
Please sign in with the controller into same account that was used to start the software.
Please note that this product may not function with some console software.
⑤ The controller is unresponsive after turning on the console by pressing the (PS) button on the DualSense® Wireless Controller or DUALSHOCK®4 Wireless Controller
If the console is turned on with the (PS) button on the DualSense® Wireless Controller or DUALSHOCK®4 Wireless Controller, make sure you sign in using the DualSense® Wireless Controller or DUALSHOCK®4 Wireless Controller.
Then, from the Home Screen, push the (PS) button on the product to sign in with the product.
⑥ Controller is not responding even when pushing the (PS) Button
- Please make sure the controller is charged.
- Please try using the controller in wired mode.
(See “How to Connect” in page 5)
Please check that your console is updated to the latest system software.
On the console, the controller does not function if you sign in with a different account than the one you selected when starting the software. Please sign in with the controller into same account that was used to start the software.
For PlayStation®5 console → Use the DualSense® Wireless Controller to set up the console.
For PlayStation®4 console → Use the DUALSHOCK®4 Wireless Controller to set up the console.
Regarding Wireless Interference
This product uses a 2.4 GHz radio frequency bandwidth. Wireless interference may occur if used at the same time as other wireless devices that also use 2.4 GHz radio frequency bandwidth, including the PS5 console.
Please do not use this product where wireless devices are prohibited or near electrical devices such as cardiac pacemakers, medical devices, fire alarms or other emergency equipment.
Wireless signals may interfere with such devices and cause accidents.
Regarding Battery
If the battery leaks, please do not touch the liquid or battery with your bare hands.
Do not place this product near heat sources or leave in direct sunlight. Internal battery life may deplete over time.
- Please be aware of the following during use and storage.
- Do not place the product in or near fire.
- Keep this product away from the following high temperature areas:
- Near heaters, heat sources, or in direct sunlight.
- Heated carpets or on top of home theater equipment.
- Avoid using outdoors or inside a car during hot weather.
- Do not charge this product other than by its specified method.
The built-in battery may overheat or rupture which may cause a fire or malfunction. - Do not charge this product during a thunderstorm, as there may be risk of electric shock.
- Keep USB connector away from metal objects. This may cause malfunction or electric shock.
- Never disassemble, repair or modify this product. There is risk of fire, electric shock, battery rupture, or overheating.
- Do not drop, step on, crush, or strike the product with strong force. This may cause fire, battery rupture, overheating, or electric shock.
- Do not let liquid or foreign matter to enter the product. It may cause fire, electric shock, or malfunction. If any liquid or foreign matter gets inside the product, stop using the product immediately and contact our customer support.
- Keep the product away from water and do not use with wet or oily hands. It may cause electric shock or malfunction.
- Keep the product away from humid, dusty, or smoky areas. It may cause electric shock or malfunction.
- Keep the USB connector away from foreign matter or dust. It may cause electric shock, malfunction, or contact failure. Use a dry cloth to wipe off any foreign matter or dust.
- Charge this product where the room temperature is 10 – 35℃ (50 – 95℉).
Charging outside this temperature range may result in the product not charging properly or prolong the charging time. - Please note that as with any rechargeable battery, the maximum amount of charge the battery can hold will gradually lessen over time after many charge cycles.
- Recharge the battery at least once every three months to maintain function even if it has not been used for a prolonged time.
