Important Instructions

  1. Before using this appliance, read all instructions. Retain this manual for future reference.
  2. To prevent electrical hazards, do not immerse any part of the appliance or cord in water or other liquids.
  3. Children must be supervised when near the appliance.

  8. Regularly check the supply cord, ensuring there is no damage. If signs of damage occur, return the entire appliance to an authorised service engineer.
  9. Ensure the cord does not hang over a table or counter or touch hot surfaces. Let the unit cool before wrapping the cord around the base for storage.
  10. Parts of this appliance can become hot – do not touch to avoid burns. Do not store or cover the appliance until it has cooled down completely.
  11. Keep this appliance away from hot gas, electric burners, heated ovens, and other heat sources.
  12. When cleaning this appliance, do not use harsh abrasives, caustic cleaners, or oven cleaners.
  13. When using this appliance, ensure there is enough space on all sides, allowing air to circulate. Keep the appliance away from curtains, wall coverings, clothing, cloths, and other flammable materials. Extra caution is required for surfaces that are not heat-resistant – an insulated heat pad is recommended.

  15. When using the toaster, ensure the slide-out crumb tray is in place. Clean the crumb tray regularly – do not allow crumbs to build up.

Warning

Using the Toaster

  1. Insert the plug into a suitable mains supply socket, then turn the power on.
  2. Place two slices of bread, muffins, or bagels into the bread slots.
  3. Using the control knob, select the desired browning (No.1 is the lightest and No.7 is the darkest). For first-time use, it is suggested to use No.3. Different types of bread and personal preference may require a different browning setting.
  4. Press the carriage control lever down until it clicks into place – the toasting cycle will automatically begin. Note: If the toaster is not plugged in and switched on, the lever will not click into place.
  5. When the desired toast colour is achieved, the toaster will turn off and the toast will pop up automatically. To stop the toasting process at any time, press the stop button.

Toasting Frozen Bread

To toast frozen bread, place the bread into the bread slots and select the desired browning setting. Press the carriage control lever down until it clicks into place, then press the ‘frozen’ button.

Cleaning the Toaster

  • A slide-out crumb tray is included, making it quick and convenient to remove crumbs.
  • Before removing and emptying the crumb tray, unplug the toaster and wait for it to cool down.
  • Clean the tray with a damp cloth. NOTE: The tray must be completely dry before placing it back into the toaster.
  • Use a stiff brush to remove any burnt-on crumbs.
  • Wipe the outside of the toaster with a damp cloth.
  • Do not use sharp or abrasive objects to clean the toaster.
  • Slide the crumb tray out of the toaster and remove the crumbs, wipe it with a clean, dry cloth, and put it back in place. Clean the crumb tray after each use of the toaster. Make sure that crumbs do not accumulate in it. Otherwise, they could burst into flames.

  • To prevent an electric shock, unplug the appliance.
  • There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
  • Maintenance and repairs must be done by qualified personnel.
  • Do not use this appliance through an external timer or separate remote control system.
