Elimko E-96P Series Universal Advanced Digital Controllers Quick Start Guide

1. Description

The Elimko E-96P Series are industrial digital process controllers designed for panel mounting, featuring 96x96 mm dimensions (IEC/TR 60668). They utilize new-generation microcontrollers and support On/Off, PID, Heat/Cool, and Floating control modes. Inputs and outputs are user-programmable. The controllers feature two 4-digit displays showing set and measured values from -1999 to 9999, and support general-purpose inputs (T/C, R/T, mV, mA).

2. Dimensions and Panel Cut-Out

The controller has external dimensions of 96 mm (Length) x 96 mm (Height) x 100 mm (Width). The required panel cut-out is 92 mm x 92 mm. Minimum spacing recommendations are 35 mm (depth) and 10 mm around the panel cut-out.

The front panel features two 4-digit displays, indicator LEDs (SET, PR, MN), and control buttons (SET, R1, R2, R3, R4).

3. Connection Diagram

The connection diagram illustrates terminal assignments. Key connections include:

  • Operating Voltage: Terminals for AC or DC power input.
  • Relay and SSR Outputs: Terminals for Relay 1 (RL1), Relay 2 (RL2), SSR 1 (SSR1), and SSR 2 (SSR2). Outputs can be selected as relays (SPST-NO, 250V AC 5A) or SSR drives (24V DC 25mA).
  • Analog Outputs: Terminals AO1 and AO2, configurable for 0-20 mA, 4-20 mA, or 0-10 V DC.
  • Analog Inputs: Terminals for Analog Input 1 and Analog Input 2, supporting various sensor types (Thermocouple, Resistance Thermometer, Current, Voltage) and an external setpoint input (mA).
  • Digital Inputs: Terminals DI1, DI2, DI3, and COM for connecting dry contact inputs.
  • RS-485 Communication: Terminals TRX+, TRX-, and GND for serial communication.
  • Valve Feedback: Terminals for potentiometer (1-5 kOhm) or mA (0-20 / 4-20 mA) feedback.

4. Warnings

The E-96P controller is designed for panel mounting and industrial environments. Ensure the following:

  • Check package contents upon receipt. Contact vendor for missing or defective items.
  • Read the user manual thoroughly before installation and operation.
  • Installation and configuration must be performed by qualified personnel.
  • Keep away from flammable gases that could cause explosions.
  • Clean only with a damp, well-squeezed cloth; avoid alcohol or solvents.
  • Not for medical applications.
  • Ensure the correct operating voltage is applied.

The E-96P controller is identified by a coding system (E-96P - W - X - Y - Z) where each position defines specific features:

(1) Universal Input: Supports Thermocouple (B, E, J, K, L, N, R, S, T, U), Resistance Thermometer (Pt-100), Current (0-20 mA, 4-20 mA), and Voltage (0-50 mV, 0-1 V, 0.2-1 V, 0-10 V DC). Resolution is 16 bit. Accuracy for Thermocouple is Max. ±1.0 °C, for Resistance Thermometer is Max. ±0.5 °C, and for Linear Input is Max. 0.1%.

(2) Valve Feedback: Supplied as potentiometer input standard. Specify mA feedback in order.

  1. Step 1: Security Code Configuration: Enter the security code (default: 10).
  2. Step 2: Page Selection and Entry: Use the 'Menu Access' button to select the desired parameter page.
  3. Step 3: Parameter Selection and Configuration: Use 'Enter' to select a parameter and 'Return' to go back. Adjust values using the up/down arrows (represented by 'SET' and other buttons in diagrams).
