5.0 Operation

  1. Connect the USB-C male port of this product to your Macbook.
  2. Connect up to three USB devices to the USB 3.0 ports.
  3. Connect a Mini DisplayPort cable from the hub's Mini DisplayPort to your display.
  4. Connect an HDMI cable from the hub's HDMI port to your HD display.
  5. Connect a VGA cable from the hub's VGA port to your HD display.
  6. Connect the hub's Gigabit Ethernet port to an Ethernet Router with an Ethernet cable.
  7. Connect earphones to the Stereo port.
  8. Insert Micro SD and SD/MMC cards into the respective card reader ports.
  9. Connect the Type-C charging port to charge your Macbook and enable simultaneous operation of the adapter.

Notes:

  • When connecting the USB-C male port to a Chromebook, a mouse connected to a USB 3.0 port may experience a delay. This behavior is also observed with other USB-C adapters when connected to Chromebooks.
  • When plugging/unplugging the PD Adapter, connected USB devices may briefly disconnect and then reconnect. To prevent data loss or corruption, avoid disconnecting the PD Adapter from AC power during data transfer.
  • The three video ports (HDMI, Mini DP, VGA) cannot function simultaneously. If all three are connected, it is recommended to use only one video port at a time for optimal performance.

6.0 Troubleshooting

Troubleshoot IssueSuggested Solutions
There is no video on the HDMI port
  1. Ensure a stable connection between the hub and your laptop.
  2. Try a different HDMI 1.4 or 2.0 cable.
  3. Update BIOS and Graphics drivers (Windows).
  4. Update macOS to the latest version (macOS).
  5. Connect to the white USB-C female port, not the orange USB-C port (e.g., on Yoga 910).
  6. Connect the hub to a Thunderbolt 3 port (identified by a Thunderbolt icon), not a USB 3.1 port (e.g., on Lenovo Yoga 720).
There is no video on the VGA port
  1. Unplug the HDMI port.
  2. Ensure screws are tightened.
  3. Use a VGA 3+9 cable.
VGA and HDMI do not work at the same time
  1. You cannot connect VGA and HDMI simultaneously.
  2. To use HDMI and VGA at the same time:
  3. Choose a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter cable, set resolution to 1080P.
  4. Then connect the HDMI monitor.
HDMI and Mini DP could not show independently
  1. HDMI and Mini DP will show the same content on macOS at 1080P.
  2. HDMI and Mini DP can show independently on Windows 10.
Mini DP and VGA could not show independently
  1. Mini DP and VGA will show the same content on macOS at 1080P.
  2. Mini DP and VGA can show independently on Windows 10.
HDMI and VGA could not show at the same time

HDMI and VGA may not show simultaneously when connected directly. Try these steps:

  1. Use a Mini DP to VGA adapter and connect your VGA monitor first. A VGA 3+9 cable might be needed.
  2. Then connect the HDMI port to your HDMI monitor and set its resolution to 1080P or lower.

Note: HDMI and VGA display the same content on macOS. They show independently on Windows 10.

Mini DP does not work (CD0395, CD0396, CD0441, CD0442)
  1. This adapter has a Mini DisplayPort, not a Thunderbolt 2.0 port, and may not work with Apple Thunderbolt Displays.
  2. The Mini DisplayPort does not support Daisychaining.
  3. The Mini DisplayPort does not support Thunderbolt 1/2 drives as it is not a Thunderbolt 2 port.
  4. For a 15-inch MacBook Pro, this adapter may not work with Apple LED Cinema Displays. However, the Mini DisplayPort can connect to other Mini DisplayPort monitors.
Mini DP could not convert HDMI/DVI port

Yes. The Mini DisplayPort is designed for connecting Mini DisplayPort monitors. It cannot convert to HDMI/DVI signals but can convert to VGA signals.

My Hard Driver could not work.

Connect one hard drive to the BC 1.2 port. Avoid connecting two hard drives simultaneously unless they are externally powered.

My Ethernet could Not work
  1. Update drivers from: Realtek RTL8153 Driver
  2. macOS: Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network. Verify your IP address, Subnet Mask, Router, and DNS server.
  3. Windows 10: Go to Windows Menu > Settings > Network & Internet > Change your Network Settings > Change adapter options. Click your Ethernet connection, then set the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS server.
My headphone does not work

macOS: Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Sound > Output/Input and select the USB PnP Audio Device.

Windows 10: Right-click the Audio icon in the lower-right corner of your desktop, select "Playback Device," and choose the corresponding audio source.

The hub could not charge my laptop

The hub can charge MacBook 12-inch (14W power) and MacBook 13-inch & 15-inch (45W power).

If using a Windows laptop, try a higher output wall charger, as the hub may draw up to 15W for its own operation.

MacBook Pro could not power off

When connecting the Apple MacBook Pro's power adapter, opening the lid will automatically turn on the MacBook Pro.

My MacBook Pro could not connect The external display when I closed the Lid of my laptop

Please connect the AC power adapter of your MacBook Pro.
