Installation
On Heatsinks/Radiators: When installing the NF-A15 PWM on a heatsink, radiator, or other devices requiring custom fan mounting mechanisms (like fan clips or proprietary screws), please use the provided mechanism.
As a Case Fan: For case fan installation, you can use proprietary clip systems if your case supports them, or the supplied mounting screws and silicone anti-vibration mounts.
Using Silicone Mounts:
- First, pull the silicone mounts through the mounting holes of your computer case.
- Next, place the fan onto the silicone mounts.
- Finally, pull the silicone mounts through the mounting holes of the fan to secure it.
Integrated Anti-Vibration Pads: The NF-A15 PWM's integrated anti-vibration pads can be easily removed if necessary for your installation.
Connection
The NF-A15 PWM features a 4-pin PWM fan connector for fully automatic speed control via your motherboard's 4-pin PWM fan headers. The fan can also be connected to 3-pin fan headers; in this configuration, it will run at full speed unless the motherboard supports voltage-based speed control.
Multiple Fans: If you are using multiple NF-A15 PWM fans, the supplied Y-cable (NA-YC1) allows you to connect several fans to a single PWM fan header. Your motherboard will then control all connected fans to run at the same speed.
Cable Length: The NF-A15 PWM comes with a short 20cm primary cable to minimize cable clutter. For longer reach, use the supplied 30cm extension cable (NA-EC1).
Low-Noise Adaptor: The included Low-Noise Adaptor (NA-RC9) reduces the fan speed from 1200rpm to 900rpm. It can be used to set a fixed speed of 900rpm (if speed control is deactivated) or to cap the maximum speed to 900rpm during PWM speed control.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Computer fans can accumulate dust over time, affecting performance. To maintain optimal performance, regularly clean your fans using a duster, a slightly moist tissue, or canned air. Exercise caution to avoid applying excessive force, which could damage the fan. Do not use a vacuum cleaner, as it may exert too much force.
The NF-A15 PWM's premium SSO2 bearing is fully sealed to prevent fine dust particles from entering, ensuring flawless operation for many years. Note that the fan is not designed for user disassembly. Removing the impeller from the frame will break the bearing's seal and void the warranty.
Warranty and Support
Despite high-grade products and strict quality control, defects can occur. Noctua aims to provide maximum reliability and convenience through a 6-year warranty period and direct, fast, and straightforward RMA service.
