Software Update Instructions for X-ZETT X-527

Requirements

The update requires a complete Main System software update run from a USB data carrier. You will need:

Important: Before starting, format the USB stick as a FAT 32 partition. (Right-click on the USB memory device in Windows Explorer, select "Format" --> FAT 32 --> Start).

Step 1: Download and USB Stick Preparation

  1. Download the software update from https://xzent.com/support/software/.
  2. Unzip the update file.
  3. Copy the update files to the root directory of the formatted USB drive.

Step 2: MCU Update

The MCU update takes approximately 30 seconds (excluding preparation time).

  1. Connect the USB drive from Step 1 to the USB cable. The device will initially display the Wi-Fi settings window. Ignore this window and navigate to Settings > Upgrade & Reset > Update.
  2. Select "MCU" and click the "Upgrade" button to start the update process. (See Picture 2 indicating the MCU upgrade button)
  3. Once the progress reaches 100%, the device will restart automatically.

Step 3: IMG (ATCUPG) Update

The IMG update takes approximately 10 minutes (excluding preparation time).

Note: Ensure the device has a constant power supply and the ignition does not enter energy-saving mode during this lengthy update.

  1. If the USB drive was disconnected, reconnect it to the USB cable. The device will again display the Wi-Fi settings window. Ignore this window and navigate to Settings > Upgrade & Reset > Update.
  2. Select "IMG" and click the "Upgrade" button to start the update process. (See Picture 3 indicating the IMG upgrade button)
  3. The device will restart automatically, and the software installation will commence.
  4. After the installation is complete, the device will reboot automatically.

Step 4: BT Activation

  1. After the device restarts, the Wi-Fi settings window will appear.
  2. Enable Wi-Fi and connect to a Wi-Fi network or hotspot. (See Picture 4 showing the Wi-Fi toggle switch)
  3. Navigate to the main menu and select BT Phone. Wait approximately 30 seconds for automatic activation.
  4. Remove the USB update stick.

Step 5: Version Check

  1. After the software update, perform a version check. If the version information differs, the entire update process must be repeated.
  2. To check the software version, go to Settings > System Info.
