Introduction

This sound level meter is used to measure the sound level of the environment: such as a factory, workshop, school, residence, office area, traffic road, audio, and so on. Operation

Considerations

  • Wind blowing across the microphone increases the noise measurement. Cover the microphone with the included windscreen when in use.
  • The sound level meter has been calibrated before leaving the factory, please use it with confidence
  • Do not store or operate the instrument in areas of high.
  • Keep the meter and microphone dry.
  • Avoid severe vibration.
  • Remove the battery when the meter is to be stored for long periods of time.

Measurement

  1. Open the protection cover of the meter.
  2. Press the HABOTEST-HT602AB-Sound-Level-Meter-FIG-3button for 2 seconds to turn on the power.
  3. After the power is turned on, the meter will start to display the sound pressure level reading.
  4. Hold the meter and let the microphone face the sound source to be measured.
  5. Read the measured value from the display.
  6. Press the HABOTEST-HT602AB-Sound-Level-Meter-FIG-3 button to turn off the power.

Fast/slow time weighted selection

  • Use theHABOTEST-HT602AB-Sound-Level-Meter-FIG-4 button to select ‘FAST’ (125 ms) or ‘SLOW’ (1 sec) time weighting. Depending on the selection, ‘FAST’ or ‘SLOW’ appears on the display.
  • Select the ‘FAST’ response to capture noise peaks as well as fast-emerging noise.
    The ‘SLOW’ response is selected to monitor sound sources with consistent noise sound pressure levels and average out rapidly changing noise. A fast response can be selected for most applications.

Data hold

  • Press the HABOTEST-HT602AB-Sound-Level-Meter-FIG-5button to enable the data hold function. Press theHABOTEST-HT602AB-Sound-Level-Meter-FIG-5 button again to turn off the data hold function and return to the normal measurement function.

Backlight

  • Press the HABOTEST-HT602AB-Sound-Level-Meter-FIG-5button and hold it for
  • 2 seconds to enable or disable the backlight function.

MAX/MIN function

  • Press the HABOTEST-HT602AB-Sound-Level-Meter-FIG-6 button to enable the maximum and minimum functions, and then
  • press the HABOTEST-HT602AB-Sound-Level-Meter-FIG-6 button to display the maximum and minimum values. Press and hold for about 2 seconds to return to the normal measurement function.

Temperature unit selection

  • Press the HABOTEST-HT602AB-Sound-Level-Meter-FIG-4button to shift the temperature unit, °C or “F.

A/C weighted selection(for model B)

  • Press HABOTEST-HT602AB-Sound-Level-Meter-FIG-4and hold for about 2 seconds to switch A or C weighted.

Automatic Power Off

  • When the instrument is turned on, the HABOTEST-HT602AB-Sound-Level-Meter-FIG-8symbol is displayed. The automatic shutdown function is turned on by default. If there is no operation within 10 minutes, the meter will automatically shut down.
  • If you need to cancel the automatic shutdown function, press and hold the HABOTEST-HT602AB-Sound-Level-Meter-FIG-5 button before turning on the instrument, then
  • Press the HABOTEST-HT602AB-Sound-Level-Meter-FIG-3button to turn on the power of the instrument, release the HABOTEST-HT602AB-Sound-Level-Meter-FIG-5button after turning on the instrument, and the auto-off function will be canceled.
  • Restart the instrument after shutdown to restore the automatic shutdown function.
