MULTI-MODULE CONFIGURATION
The Smart Hub Module (SHM) is an accessory that allows several modules (maximum 4) to be connected to a single Gysflash CNT charger.
Set up
For the SHM device to work, a GYSFLASH CNT charger must be connected to channel 1 (FIG II) via the SMC cable supplied.
Can be used with or without power cable
- This device is supplied with a 16 A CEE7/7 plug and must only be used in a single-phase 230 V (50 – 60 Hz) three-wire electrical installation that includes an earth.
- If there are as many (or more) chargers as there are modules connected to the SHM, then a mains supply is not required. Each Gysflash can supply power to the module connected to its respective channel.
- To draw power from a charger, the module must be connected to the same channel as a Gysflash.
- In Multi-Charger configuration, it is not necessary to connect the SHM mains lead.
- If there are more modules than chargers connected to the SHM, it is necessary to connect the SHM’s mains cable in order to activate all the channels.
- To check that the channel corresponding to a module is activated, confirm that the associated LED is lit.
Usage
- Make sure that the Gysflash and the modules are properly connected to the SHM (see Installation section above).
- Switch on the Gysflash and, if necessary, connect the SHM to the mains power.
- Make sure that the LEDs corresponding to the different modules are illuminated.
- The Gysflash is now ready to be used in conjunction with the attached modules.
MULTI-CHARGER CONFIGURATION ̶ PARALLELIZATION (PARALLEL)
When identical Gysflash CNT chargers are connected in parallel, the SHM handles comunication between them in order to become an ultra-powerful charging system.
To use this function, the SHM must be combined with a Power Hub Module (PHM – ref. 056589) to manage the power.
Paralleling can only be done with identical GYSFLASH CNT units (maximum 4).
Master/Slave communication:
Gysflash CNT chargers are installed in parallel using a Master/Slave configuration. One Gysflash (the Master) controls all the others (the Slaves).
Set up
- Connecting the Gysflash to the SHM:
- Connect the Gysflash units you wish to run in parallel to a channel on the SHM. The Master Gysflash must be connected to channel 1 (FIG II).
- The Slave Gysflashes units can be connected to channels 2 , 3 , or 4 (FIG II).
Make sure that the Gysflash output cables are properly interconnected via the PHM. For more detail, refer to the PHM manual.
For Gysflash units manufactured before January 2024 (serial number less than 24.01.xxxxxx. xxxxxx), please refer to the «SHM supplementary leaflet» available on the website www.gys.fr for more details on the specific installation requirements for this version of charger.
- Gysflash configuration:
Turn on all the Gysflash units. For each Gysflash, open the Multi-charger menu (see Gysflash manual) and select the appropriate configuration: - Cable calibration
- On the Gysflash Master interface, go to the Cable calibration menu (see Gysflash manual).
- Cables can be calibrated either automatically (recommended) or manually (OLED screen only).
- This procedure is used to calibrate the charging cables of the unit, so that the Gysflash can compensate effectively for any drop in voltage caused by the cables.
Usage
- Switch on all Gysflash units
- Check that the Gysflash units are correctly connected to the SHM and PHM (Installation section).
- Use the Gysflash Master interface to control the multi-charger.
MULTI-CHARGER CONFIGURATION – EQUALIZATION (EQUALIZE)
The SHM manages communication between Gysflash CNT chargers, so that battery charge levels can be equalised.
Equalisation can only be carried out with identical Gysflash CNTs (maximum of 4).
Master/Slave communication:
Battery equalisation is performed using Gysflash CNT chargers in a Master/Slave configuration.
One Gysflash (the Master) controls all the others (the Slaves).
Set up
- Connecting the Gysflash to the SHM:
- Connect each Gysflash to a channel on the SHM.
- The Master Gysflash must be connected to channel 1 (FIG II).
- The Slave Gysflashes units can be connected to channels 2 , 3 , or 4 (FIG II).
For each Gysflash, open the Multi-charger menu (see Gysflash manual) and select the appropriate configuration:
Usage
- Switch on all Gysflash units
- Check that the Gysflash units are correctly connected to the SHM (see Installation section).
- Use the Gysflash Master interface to control the multi-charger.
To ensure optimal equalisation, we recommend connecting the clamps of each charger directly to the terminals of each battery (without any intermediary cables).
