Safety
Now, it’s time to be serious. Improperly operating the Glowforge Ethernet Adapter unit can cause fre and health hazards. These can result in serious injury or even death.
Before you start
- Read this manual before using your Glowforge Ethernet Adapter, and ensure everyone else who uses it reads this too.
- Always follow all instructions in this manual, in the Glowforge Printer Manual and the Glowforge App.
- Only use the power adapter provided with the Ethernet Adapter, do not use any third-party products.
- Children require the supervision and assistance of an adult at all times.
- This product may be subject to regulations and standards. Ensure that you comply with all applicable rules.
To reduce the risk of electric shock or fre:
- Do not try to service, repair, or modify the Glowforge Ethernet Adapter in a manner not described in this manual.
- Do not open any sealed portion of the Glowforge Ethernet Adapter or try to access the wiring. Damage caused by opening the case is not covered by the warranty.
- If the Glowforge Ethernet Adapter, its power adapter or power cord is damaged, unplug the power adapter and contact support@glowforge.com immediately.
- In the event of any emergency or malfunction, unplug the power cord from the wall.
- Use only a properly grounded 110/240 VAC outlet that meets local building codes.
- The Glowforge Ethernet Adapter may draw up to 0.25 amps. Ensure that the circuit can support at least this load. Note: a standard household outlet can support both a Glowforge Printer and a Glowforge Ethernet Adapter if nothing else is drawing power from the circuit.
- Do not open or modify a Glowforge Ethernet Adapter for any reason.
Operating Environment
- Do not use if the ambient temperature is below 40° degrees Fahrenheit (5° Celsius) or over 80° degrees Fahrenheit (27° Celsius).
- Do not use if the ambient air is below 20% humidity or above 80% humidity. Air above 80%.
- Do not use the Glowforge Ethernet Adapter outdoors.
- Do not use the Glowforge Ethernet Adapter in an environment where it may come into contact with liquids, moisture, grease, or excessive dust or small particles.
- Use your Glowforge Ethernet Adapter only when printing on material that is laser compatible. Only the manufacturer or supplier of material can confirm that it is laser compatible. Glowforge recommends the use of Proofgrade® materials with the Glowforge Ethernet Adapter.
- Non-laser compatible materials may contain harmful or toxic chemicals that are not treated by the Glowforge Ethernet Adapter and could cause injury or death.
- Non-laser compatible materials may cause damage to your Glowforge Ethernet Adapter.

- Use only the provided power adapter for the adapter and avoid using third-party products.
- Ensure that children are supervised by an adult when using the adapter.

Any Damage?
Once you’ve broken the seal on your Glowforge Ethernet Adapter’s box, you can’t return it to the retail store. We’re here to help, though!
If any part of your Glowforge Ethernet Adapter comes out of the box visibly damaged, we want to make it right! Send photos of the damage to support@glowforge.com and wait until you hear back from us. If the Glowforge Ethernet Adapter is visibly damaged, do not plug it in or attempt to operate it; contact us immediately.
Unboxing & Seting Up
Preparing the area
For optimal performance, place the Glowforge Laser Printer within 1 m (39”) of your Ethernet Router or a wired Ethernet port.
Setup your Glowforge Ethernet Adapter
- Attach the Glowforge Ethernet Adapter to the rear of the Glowforge Printer with the included double-sided tape.
- Using the included Ethernet cable, connect the cable to the Ethernet port on your router or wired Ethernet port and the other end to the ‘LAN’ port on the Glowforge Ethernet adapter.
- Plug the included power supply into an electrical socket that supports 110-240 VAC.
- Plug the included power cable into the Power Adapter and the other end into the power port on the Glowforge Ethernet Adapter.
Setup Your Printer
Follow the instructions for your Laser Printer setup at glowforge.com/setup
When prompted for the connection type, select ‘Ethernet’.
Type in the serial number of the printer.
Hold down the ‘CONNECT’ button on the Glowforge Ethernet Adapter for 3 seconds.
The printer will automatically pair with the Glowforge Ethernet Adapter.
Service
Other than the procedures shown above, the Glowforge Ethernet Adapter may not be serviced or repaired by the user. Should service or repair be required, it must be returned to the factory; contact us through our Help & Learning Center at support.glowforge.com for instructions.
