Step-by-Step Guide to updating FlexNX/LT Software

Prior to installing software version 2.440 please confirm that your FlexNX, Flex LT, NX25 and/or NX15 are all running version 2.178 or later. If an earlier version is currently installed, do not attempt to update. Instead, contact softwaretechsupport@geophysical.com for assistance.

Click the Software Updates tab.
Please note that there are two download options: one for Flex NX/LT (includes
NX25/NX15 and Nexus Elements) and one for Nexus Elements (NX25 and NX15 ONLY).
Select the FlexNX/LT Update package and download the .ZIP file to your computer. Do not extract the .ZIP file.
Select a USB drive that is formatted as FAT32. You can check the format of the drive by right clicking the drive in Windows and selecting “Properties”.
Copy the entire .ZIP file to the USB drive. Do not extract the .ZIP file.
• The root directory of the drive should look like the image below after copying the .ZIP file to the USB drive:
Remove the USB drive from your computer.
Power on Flex NX or Flex LT.
On the Main Dashboard, tap the screen where it lists the current software version:
A screen will populate depicting a USB drive. Insert the USB drive.
The Flex NX/LT system will begin the software installation:
After the installation is complete the FlexNX/LT cart will reboot display a configuring page:
Once configured, FlexNX/LT will reboot once again and return to the dashboard. Confirm the software version (2.440) is reporting correctly.
If NX25 or NX15 need to be updated, first power cycle FlexNX or Flex LT.
Update satellite antennas one at a time. Start by powering on Flex NX or Flex LT, then power on NX25 or NX15. Pair a satellite antenna using a wireless (Flex NX only) or wired (Flex NX, Flex LT) connection, then follow the prompts on Flex NX or Flex LT. Do not power off the satellite antenna when the LED is blinking magenta.
Once the update is completed, NX25 and NX15 will reboot into the Nexus Elements Interface and display a slow flashing yellow/green LED. To use with Flex NX pair as normal using the NFC tags. For use with Flex LT, plug the Flex Tether Module into Flex LT’s USB port, then pair the satellite antenna by tapping the connector side of the Tether Module to the satellite antenna’s NFC sticker.
