Overview

Futaba update-compatible servo programming can be updated online by downloading the correct update data and performing a guided write/update sequence. After updating, disconnect the cable/media and perform a function check before use.

Quick Guide

  1. Online file: Download the appropriate servo update zip file from the Futaba website (or your local distributor’s website), then extract it on your computer.
  2. PC/CIU-3 update (when using CIU-3): Install the CIU-3 driver on your PC. Connect as shown in the manual figure, then operate the PC update. Click WRITE, then OK. The servo beeps twice and updates; wait about 10 seconds without turning off the power. When you hear 3 beeps, click OK and remove the cable. Perform a function check before use.
  3. Transmitter update (when using a compatible transmitter): Copy the FUTABA folder from the extracted zip onto a microSD. Insert the microSD into the transmitter’s SD card slot. Connect the servo to the transmitter’s S.I/F connector. Turn on the transmitter and open System Menu ⇒ Update, tap Servo update, select the target servo, then tap Update. The servo beeps twice and updates; after success, disconnect the servo from S.I/F and perform a function check before flying.

When using CIU-3: Update Procedure

Preparations

  1. Install the driver for the CIU-3 onto your PC.Futaba-Servo-Software-fig- (3)
    • When the CIU-3 is first connected to the PC, once the CIU-3 is connected to the PC, download the recommended driver software. Using Windows Vista, the “Found New Hardware Wizard” window appears on the screen. Click “Locate and install driver software”.
    • Refer to the manual of the CIU-3 for further information.\

Updating procedure

  1. Download the ZIP file of the update data from our website or your local distributor’s website.

  9. This completes the update process. Click “OK” and then remove the cable.
  10. Be sure to check each function before use.

Preparations

  1. Download the zip file of the servo update data from our website or your local distributor’s website.
  2. Extract the zip file on your computer.

  12. Disconnect the servo from the transmitter’s S.I/F connector. Always perform a function check before flying.

BLS-A600 V2.0 UPDATE

  1. Improved operational stability when connected via S.BUS.
  2. When using an airplane gyro with an S.BUS connection, the following settings are now available:
    • GYA483: Gyro mode = 3-axis
    • Servo type = DG285Hz mode
    • GYA553/GYA573: S.BUS (HS) mode

  1. Improved operational stability when connected via S.BUS.
