1.4. Introduction
InnexScan is a robust scanning solution specifically engineered for the Innex DS200 document scanner. It enables rapid and efficient scanning of various document types, from business cards to books, converting them into high-quality image formats. The software offers multiple features, including document scanning, book digitization, barcode recognition, and video recording. With its integrated OCR (Optical Character Recognition) feature, scanned images can easily be converted into searchable PDF files or editable Word, Excel, ePub, and Text formats.
For book scanning, InnexScan delivers exceptional results with its advanced image processing features. It can automatically flatten curved book pages, digitally remove finger artifacts from scans, repair damaged or frayed document edges, align pages based on text orientation, and precisely split dual-page book scans into separate images.
NOTE: This software is distributed exclusively with the Innex DS200 document scanner. Full functionality, including advanced book scanning capabilities, is guaranteed only when paired with this hardware. When used with non-approved book scanners, certain features may be limited or unavailable.
Adding a Watermark
To add a common watermark (such as DRAFT or CONFIDENTIAL) to your scanned document, follow these steps:
- Click on the [Document] function in the top menu bar.
- Click the
[Watermark] icon in the left-hand toolbar to open the Watermark Settings dialog.’
- In the Watermark Settings dialog, select [Add Watermark].
- Type your desired watermark text in the Content box. You can adjust the font, size, color, transparency, and layout as needed.
- Click [OK] to apply the watermark to your document. Now, you can scan your document with the added watermark.
Configuring the PDF Settings
You can customize the PDF settings for the documents you process with this software.
Follow these steps to adjust the PDF options:
- Click the
Settings icon in the upper-right corner of the main window, then select Settings from the drop-down list.
- Choose the Image options tab.
- In the PDF Settings dialog, set the file compression level (Low, Standard, or High) from the drop-down list for each PDF format.
- Click [Confirm] to apply the PDF settings to your document.
PDF (Image)
When you select this file type, the software will not perform text recognition on your document. The resulting PDF will only contain an image of your original document and will not be text-searchable.
PDF (Searchable)
This is the most commonly used file type. It contains two layers: the recognized text and the original image on top. This allows you to access the recognized text while still viewing the original image.
