The Samsung SolarCell Remote offers a variety of buttons for controlling your TV. Below is a description of each button and its function:
Button | Description |

(Power) | Press to turn the TV on or off. For The Frame model, this button switches between TV and Art mode. Press and hold to turn off the TV completely. |
(Voice Assistant) | Runs Voice Assistant. Press and hold the button, speak a command, and release to activate. Note: Supported languages and features may vary by region. Maintain a distance of at least 0.6 inches (15.24 mm) from the remote when speaking. |
(Color - Number button) | Press to display the colored buttons window and the virtual numeric pad alternately. Use this button to access additional options or enter numeric values. |
(Multi View) | Press to directly enter the Multi View function. |
(Directional button) | Use to navigate menus and highlight items on the Home Screen. |
Select | Selects or runs a focused item. Pressing it while watching a broadcast displays detailed program information. |
(Return) | Press to return to the previous menu. Press and hold for 1 second or more to terminate the current function. Pressing it while watching a program shows the previous channel. |
(Smart Hub) | Press to return to the Home Screen. |
▷ (Play/pause) | Displays playback controls. Press and hold in Game Mode to use the Game Bar (feature availability may vary by model/region). |
+/-(Volume) | Move up or down to adjust volume. Press to mute sound. |
/(Channel) | Move up or down to change the channel. Press to see the Guide screen. Press and hold to quickly change channels. |

+ (Pairing) | If the remote does not pair automatically, point it at the TV and press and hold the and buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds or more. |
Accessibility Features
The Accessibility Shortcuts button provides quick access to various TV accessibility functions. Press and hold the Volume button to display the Accessibility Shortcuts menu.
- Voice Guide Settings: Activates voice guides for menu options, aiding visually impaired users. Users can configure volume, speed, pitch, and level. The language used for voice guides is determined by the TV's Language screen settings.
- TV Background Volume: Lowers the volume of broadcast content to ensure the voice guide is audible. Content volume can be adjusted if too low.
- Picture Off: Turns off the TV screen while keeping the sound on, reducing power consumption. The screen returns on when any button is pressed.
- Graphic Zoom: Enlarges the screen display for larger text and images. Users can adjust the zoom level and area.
- Audio (Video) Description: Provides an audio description of video scenes for the visually impaired, available for broadcasts that support this feature.
- High Contrast: Enhances readability by changing major service screens to white text on a black background or making TV menus opaque.
- Grayscale: Converts the TV screen to black and white to improve the visibility of blurred edges caused by colors. Some accessibility menus may be unavailable when Grayscale is active.
- Color Inversion: Inverts text and background colors on setting menus for better readability. Some accessibility menus may be unavailable when Color Inversion is active.
- Enlarge: Increases the font size on the screen.
- Learn TV Remote: Assists visually impaired users in learning the remote control button positions. The TV announces the name of each button when pressed. Press the button twice to exit.
- Learn Menu Screen: Helps users learn the TV screen menus. When enabled, the TV describes the structure and features of selected menus.
- Caption Settings: Enables captions for programs. Options include setting Caption to On and choosing from various caption modes (Default, CC1-CC4, Text1-Text4, Service1-Service6). Digital caption options allow customization of font color, background color, size, and position.
- Multi-output Audio: Allows simultaneous use of the TV speaker and a Bluetooth device, with the option to set the Bluetooth device volume higher than the TV speaker. This function activates when a Bluetooth headphone is connected.
- Sign Language Zoom Settings: Zooms in on the sign language portion of a program if it is provided. Users can edit the position and magnification.
- Remote Button Repeat Settings: Adjusts the repeat speed of remote control buttons when pressed and held. Users can enable Slow Button Repeat and adjust the repeat interval.
Important Information
- Use the Samsung Smart Remote within 20 feet (6 m) of the TV. Usable distance may vary based on wireless environmental conditions.
- Remote images, buttons, and functions may differ by model or geographical area.
- The Universal Remote function works only with the Samsung Smart Remote provided with the TV.
