DCC07-12 Dash Camera
Pair a DCA07 Wi-Fi auxiliary camera to your DCC07-12 Dash Camera
Once you’ve connected the auxiliary camera to an ignition power source, pair it with the vehicle’s dashcam. Pairing the auxiliary camera to the dashcam enables the dashcam to pull recordings from the auxiliary camera and upload them to the cloud. We have tested pairing up to four auxiliary cameras with one dashcam. All the auxiliary cameras connected to one dashcam must be paired the same way. There are two auxiliary camera options, and each type is paired to the dashcam differently:

Prerequisites: The DCC07-12 dashcam battery requires a minimum charge of 35% in order to enable the option for pairing Wi-Fi auxiliary cameras. Make sure the auxiliary camera is connected to power. Use any device that connects to Wi-Fi, such as a phone or tablet, to check that the camera can find the available Wi-Fi networks (it appears as AuxCamera_XXXXXX).
Important
When connecting multiple auxiliary cameras, the first one disconnects when another is paired. It will reconnect on its own in about a minute.
Follow these steps to pair your cameras:
When you are in the parked vehicle with the parking brake on, the ignition on, and the door closed, press the touchscreen of the dashcam to view the PIN screen. Enter the default PIN 3333 to unlock the dashcam for the first time, or your admin PIN subsequently.
The screen unlocks and the menu appears:
Press Settings.
Scroll down and press WiFi.
Toggle the button to turn on the Mobile Hotspot.
Return to the Settings menu.
Scroll down and press Add Cameras.
The dashcam searches for available, unpaired auxiliary cameras. This can take up to a minute.
A snapshot from the auxiliary camera appears on the screen. If it is the auxiliary camera you want to pair with the dashcam, press YES.
Note
If it is not the auxiliary camera you want to pair with, press NO. The dashcam continues to search for available, unpaired cameras.
The auxiliary camera is paired to the dashcam. This can take up to a minute.
Press DONE.
You are taken back to the Settings screen.
Repeat steps 7 through 9 for any additional auxiliary cameras.
Important
After another auxiliary camera is paired, the first one disconnects. It reconnects on its own in about a minute.
To confirm that the auxiliary camera paired successfully, scroll down, and press More Info.
From this screen, you can see all the auxiliary cameras that are connected to your dashcam.
Note
If one or more auxiliary cameras don’t appear, exit the More Info screen, wait about a minute to make sure they have all reconnected, and re-enter. The paired auxiliary cameras should all appear.
Auxiliary camera reset button
The reset button is located on the side of the camera(s) lens ball. To access it, loosen the two screws on the lower camera mount to move the ball around, Arrows point to the reset button.
The reset button has two settings.
- Holding down the reset button for over 3 seconds, not longer than 8 seconds and release the button. Only the auxiliary camera will reboot.
- Holding down the reset button for over 10 seconds release the button. Only the auxiliary camera will re-boot and reset all settings.
Mounting the auxiliary camera(s) and views
Before mounting the camera, ensure that the installer understands how the end-user is looking to enhance the views around the vehicle. Typical additional views are:
- Low on rear of vehicle
- High on rear of vehicle, rear loading safety
- Driver or Passenger side
- Side of vehicle when working or loading from the side
- Internal area of passenger transport or load areas for security, health and safety of driver, passengers, and load.
The range is limited to 20-30ft that can be reduced by line-of-site blockages and vehicle construction.

Flush (rear) mount Wi-Fi Surfsight auxiliary camera
Ensure that the Wi-Fi Surfsight auxiliary camera has a clear line of site to the AI-12.
Once the view and mounting location has been confirmed, secure the rear camera by the means of Rivet nut inserts/ Ny lock Nuts/ Bolts or screws, ensuring that no sharp edges can catch on any person or clothing when working/operating the vehicle, removing any excess thread or sharp points from the fixings.
When drilling into body work, you will need to have a minimum size of 2.2 cm/ 22 mm/.8” hole to route the camera loom into the body work. This must be grommeted and sealed for waterproofing to ensure that liquid cannot ingress into the vehicle body/chassis.
Ensure that all swarf is cleaned away and any holes created into the vehicle’s body/ chassis are rust-proofed (rust -proof paint), and where cables route through the hole, use a grommet, ensure that all swarf is removed from the local area.

When mounting to a vehicle where the camera will be surrounded by the bracket, use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the mounting bracket (A) to swing the camera away from the bracket 90 degrees. Then the bracket is clear to be screwed into the vehicle (B). When bracket is secure, pivot the camera back into proper position and tighten the (A) screws.
Cable Routing
From the Surfsight auxiliary cameras route the power cable into the vehicle cab following the vehicles looms ensure the cables are secured using Zip (Cable) ties every one foot (12”/30 cm/300 mm), and that the cable is not stretched by door opening, cab tilting or panel opening.
