Low Battery Notification

  • FlashQ Transmitter: During power-ON, press power button once, a blinking
    • RED indicates low-battery and needs a recharge.
  • Q20III Main Body: Any button actions make the Battery Charge Indicator blink RED
    • Flash / video light gets suspended. This needs a recharge / battery replacement.

Charging Instructions

Charging FlashQ Transmitter

  • Charge FlashQ Transmitter (with built-in Li-ion battery) by connecting to a computer or other USB power adapter using the included USB cable.
  • The Status indicator on Transmitter is in RED during charging and turns GREEN when charging is complete.
  • Take around 1.2 hours to fully charge the Transmitter.

WARNING:

  • The included USB charging cable is for charging FlashQ QOIII / Transmitter / Receiver only. Total power rating (two USB-C outputs) is at 5V 800mA.

Charging FlashQ Q2OlII

Highly recommend to use rechargeable Ni-MH batteries on FlashQ Q2OIIl for quick recycling time and convenience of USB charging capability.

  • Charge FlashQ QOIII (with rechargeable Ni-MH batteries installed) by connecting to a computer or other USB power adapter using the included USB cable.
  • The Battery Charge Indicator is in AMBER during charging and turns GREEN when charging is complete.
  • Take around 4.5 hours to fully charge two 2500mAh Ni-MH batteries with FlashQ Q2OIIl.

WARNING:

  • FlashQ Q2OIIl also accepts two non-rechargeable AA-size alkaline batteries, but
  • DO NOT attempt to recharge the alkaline batteries using USB charging.
  • Battery may leak or explode if improperly handled.
  • Make certain to install the batteries with correct polarity.
  • Remove the batteries from FlashQ QOIll when not in use for a prolonged period.

  1. The photoflash (Xenon flash tube) outputs high power light energy. Avoid direct eye exposure.
  2. Caution hot around the flash tube window and video light window during use.
  3. Do not expose the product to rain or moisture.
  4. The product contains small parts. Keep out of reach of small children to prevent accidental swallowing.
  5. Do not disassemble. Electric shock may occur if high voltage circuit inside the product is touched.

FlashQ Transmitter

  1. Press the Power button FlashQ-Q20III-Wireless-Flash-System-fig-4for 2 seconds to turn on / off FlashQ Transmitter, vice versa. Special LED blink pattern indicates POWER ON.
    • FlashQ Transmitter blinks YELLOW every 4 sec. when it is ON
  2. On FlashQ Transmitter, press either one button FlashQ-Q20III-Wireless-Flash-System-fig-5to remote control Q2OIll’s flash power level / video light level.
  3. On FlashQ Transmitter, press the Test button FlashQ-Q20III-Wireless-Flash-System-fig-6for 2 seconds to have pilot test.

Notes:

  • FlashQ Transmitter gets Auto Power OFF after 30 minutes idle.
  • To disable Auto Power OFF, press and hold the Power button FlashQ-Q20III-Wireless-Flash-System-fig-4for 5 seconds to turn on FlashQ Transmitter.

Flash Mode

  1. Turn on FlashQ Q2OIll and Transmitter
  2. Toggle button FlashQ-Q20III-Wireless-Flash-System-fig-7, set the Mode Indicator FLASH turns OFF
  3. Press button FlashQ-Q20III-Wireless-Flash-System-fig-8once, switch to Flash Mode
  4. Press buttonFlashQ-Q20III-Wireless-Flash-System-fig-8 to control flash power level
  5. Press buttonFlashQ-Q20III-Wireless-Flash-System-fig-9 for a pilot test
  6. On FlashQ Transmitter, press either one buttonFlashQ-Q20III-Wireless-Flash-System-fig-5to remote control Q20III’s flash power level. And FlashQ Transmitter can trigger the Q20III remotely.

S1 Mode

  4. On FlashQ Transmitter, press either one buttonFlashQ-Q20III-Wireless-Flash-System-fig-5to remote control Q20III’s flash power level. In this mode, FlashQ Transmitter cannot trigger the QOIll remotely.
    • In S1 mode, FlashQ Q20III synchronizes to the traditional single flash system (common in film camera). FlashQ Q2OIll just synchronizes to the first flash.

S2 Mode

  2. Press buttonFlashQ-Q20III-Wireless-Flash-System-fig-8 to control flash power level

  4. On FlashQ Transmitter, press either one button FlashQ-Q20III-Wireless-Flash-System-fig-5to remote control Q2OIll’s flash power level. In this mode, FlashQ Transmitter cannot trigger the QOIll remotely.
    • In S2 mode, FlashQ QOIll synchronizes to the digital / TTL flash system. The master flash fires a pre-flash (for TTL metering / red eye reduction) and then a main flash. FlashQ Q2OIlI (in S2 mode) can ignore the pre-flash, and synchronizes to the main flash.

Video Mode

Modeling Mode

(Video light is always ON for modeling purpose. Both Flash and Video light turn ON during fire triggering.).

Pairing Up

Pairing Up FlashQ Q20ll| and Transmitter

  1. Turn on FlashQ QZOIll and Transmitter
  2. On FlashQ Transmitter, hold both buttons FlashQ-Q20III-Wireless-Flash-System-fig-5for 3 seconds to enter Pairing Mode (Blue LED blinking)
  3. Repeat Step 2 on the second Transmitter (sold separately), two Transmitters should register to the same channel. The second Transmitter goes back to operation mode automatically.
  4. On Q20III Main Body, hold button FlashQ-Q20III-Wireless-Flash-System-fig-11for 3 seconds to enter Pairing Mode (Blue LED row blinking in special pattern)
  5. The system goes pairing and selects a new clear channel automatically.
  6. When pairing gets success, Q20IIl Main Body quits Pairing mode and back to operation mode automatically. Press either one buttonFlashQ-Q20III-Wireless-Flash-System-fig-5on FlashQ Transmitter to complete Pairing.
